We said the exact same thing when we were there on Saturday. After I got my cans(which I don't mind waiting for) and our pours we grabbed a seat and food. But to get just another pour you had to wait in that long line again. However, typically the line does start to die down as the day wears on. But if its your first stop of the day and you don't care about cans you do kind of get penalized. It can almost be a deterrent. We almost didn't even bother going.

Yeah I was at the Summer Session on Saturday (Which was really awesome) and we staggered over to Bissell after last call at 5pm and we were shocked to see people leaving with cans. There was a line when we got to the Point at 11:30am but I guess it must've died down when the festival started up at 12-1.

Yeah for bigger releases they open early and have nothing but cans sales until noon (They also add two registers out back). With that setup they usually chew through the line fast so waiting for pours isn't a big deal. But for regular openings if all you want is draft your best bet is to arrive after they've been open for a few hours.

Got there at 10:30 and was about 100 people back. After waiting outside, on a beautiful day, for 30 minutes they opened the doors at 11 and I was moving fast. I was through the line in 30 minutes. Easy day and a great beer

My brother traveling to Portland Sunday 8/13. See a 40 bbl batch of Reciprocal being released on Sat 8/12. What are odds some cans last to Sunday?

Sorry, but zero chance. SOMETIMES a lesser demand beer could last to Sunday but Reciprocal not so much.

Beer with berries. First year, it was sort of a pale ale with berries. Last year and this year have been kettle sours, I think.

Question for the locals. I'll be moving to Portland at the end of the month (can't wait!). Do the Bissell releases become easier once the summer ends? I visited last December and also the May before that, and it was relatively easy to walk in during the afternoon and pick up cans with no lines. It seems that has not been the case at all this summer, but I'm not sure if they've just become more popular since then or if it's mostly seasonal fluctuation.

It's much easier to get cans when the tourists leave. You still have the occasionally busy Saturday SWISH release but the weekday releases are cake.

Is the allocation for NG pretty consistent? 2 or 3 four packs?

Nothing Gold, and all other releases, have been 3 4pks per person all season. Substance tends to almost always be 2 4pks per person and there have been instances in the past where they lowered special offerings like Seed to 2 4pks pp.
