Haha my wife and I have been watching them this week and during the rare dos releases. It is pretty crazy the amounts she buys when it doesn't even look like they can afford clean socks.

During the Rare NOA release, I was in line with someone who claimed to have spoken with them during a release.

Supposedly, due to health issues with several family members, they're trying to supplement income where possible.

Given the cost of health care and medications, especially for ongoing conditions, maybe they can't afford clean socks.

No matter what, they're certainly dedicated.

They are for sure dedicated. They bring mules and actually turned them away today when they found out they were not needed.

Wonder where they sell their stuff at, can't imagine it's easy work. That's ALOT of beer to move if they are getting 40+ bottles per release sometimes.

Rare Dos 1 is ridiculous, oh man. Best Cycle beer I've had. Better than Scoop, better than Rarer &+, if you are at all into straight barrel aged beers, this is literally as good as it gets. Starting to think four bottles wasn't enough.

Was so fortunate that my first Tampa trip coincided with Cycle's anny. Spent quite a bit of time the last couple of days just drinking thru the BA tap list and it was as great of a craft beer experience as I've had. Just world class BA stout, one right after the other. Unreal

Good to hear. It's really unfortunate that some bros have spread the ridiculous notion that Cycle's stouts are "thin" or whatever. Cycle is world class and its stouts are criminally underrated compared to other names.

Wish I could have tried it on draft. Shared a bottle with some friends last night. So good, this bottle was made for a bottle share because a little dab will do ya.

Crazy great tap list going at Cycle right now. Wish I could make it by to sample, but my wallet and liver could use the break.

I'm usually one to say that cycles stouts are thin. In reality compared to Ccb/AC they are. And honestly I felt like they really got thinner around the 3rd anniversary. I don't think it's a ridiculous notion...cycles stout is a porter at Ccb. Not to say that's bad. But that's where people give the opinion of being thin.

That said- I thought the collab series was the first output since 3rd Ann, where some of the beers got better, back to where the smaller batch quality was. And this release they've gotten even better. The secondary barrel notes in rare 1 are very very good, I hope they age the rest of their releases longer as it makes their stout much better.

Cycle makes great beer and it's more and more accessible. There is a crowd that believes every cycle beer is a 5 and others that think every release is too thin. The answer is Probably in between. Having access to all of the ba stouts in The Tampa Bay Area is gluttonous. There are few places you can travel to and see a ba tap list and bottle availability we've had access to over the past couple of months. I'm glad people are enjoying it and I think the 4th Ann beers are some of cycles best in a long time.

Just quoted this to highlight that I think we're a bit spoiled for stouts in the TB area. Compared to CCB and Angry Chair, brewers of some of the thickest, chewiest stouts you'll find anywhere, yes, Cycle's are a bit thin. But Cycle is still just as thick or thicker than probably 90% of the stouts people trade for all over the country.

    .

You guys are lucky. I've been following this thread from up here drooling over the Cycle releases this summer.

I'll take your "thin" Cycle stouts over 95+% of stouts readily available around here.

Cheers & have one for me

Lol at Cycle having "thin" stouts. There are normally very viscous. They just aren't always as viscous feeling as a Cigar City and Angry Chair stouts.

If 3 guys weigh 855, 765, and 650. The third guy is the thinnest but by no means is thin.

I've not had a ton of Cycle beers but I do remember thinking one of the 3rd anniversary coffee beers I had felt thin. None of the beers I had on tap this past week were even remotely thin.

I actually prefer a medium plus mouthfeel over a cloyingly chewy mouthfeel most of the time and the Cycle beers were all right there in that medium plus range for me.
