Did anyone catch Clark's cryptic tweets a week or so ago about one more surprise left for the year and then a retweet of an SR-71? Is it too much wishful thinking that another bottling of SR-71 is upon us? Might make sense to open the new brewery with a bang!

Honestly, I was hoping a silent SR71 bottle release was going to be the 'big surprise' for the public opening at Mornin Delight Day. My fantasies are so greedy...

 

When is the new brewery supposed to open?

 

Right now sounds like late this year.

 

Or perhaps a new version, SR-72???

Hoping they can hold to that time table. Wondering how big of a shit show it will be on opening day, especially with some kind of crazy release... But with at least two serving bars, maybe I wont have to wait 20 minutes for a refill on Sosus even tho I'm sitting right in front of the taps....

 

Are all TG BA stouts lottery or do they ever actually hit distro?

 

I don't think any of the TG BA Stouts have ever hit distro. Some of the other BA beers have in the past though (Naughty Temple, etc).

TG just posted on social media that they will have some special beers on tap at the taproom for Labor Day weekend: "Labor Day weekend at TG will be full of great beer, games, and food! We will be serving special taps this weekend of Naughty Temple, Mornin' Delight, Dragon Fandango, Fandango variations: Blueberry & Rhubarb and Blood Peach & Plumb. Our extended patio area will have a bags set out to play, we are excited to have Tacos Don Diego of Coralville, Iowa serving delicious tacos outside on Saturday starting at noon."

 

Jealous.

How early do you think I need to show up in order to get pours of everything?

 

It's already gone, my crew got it all.

 

Has anyone heard rumors of construction on the new brewery not going as well as planned?

 

They had a lot of delays from rain when they were starting to put it up, but it looked pretty well on its way at this point. A lot is already completed--all the big ticket items are done from floor to ceiling, tanks, canning and kegging lines, cold storage and most of the piping. But there is still a lot piping of to be completed, and then the full completion of spaces from the kitchen to the bar, etc., and finally cosmetic touches. Estimate was Winter this year but I'd say the safer bet is into early next year.

 

Seems like all the Ohio guys are getting the updates and the Iowa guys are in the dark

 

Does anyone know if TG has announced or hinted at their plan for cans vs bombers once the new brewery opens? I would love if they did away with hoppy beers in bombers and instead put King Sue, Sosus, DDH Sue, etc. in cans.
