Bissell newbie here. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect for the Industry vs Inferiority release next Wednesday? I'll be attending a meeting in Westbrook til 1. If I get to Bissell say around 1:30, will I get this new beer, will there be a long line, and will there be any other cans to bring home? Thanks.

 

There will likely still be quite a line. Bissell will start the day with IvI and Substance but I imagine Substance will be gone by the time you get there. Although it's a Wednesday release we're still in the thick of tourist/beercationing season so it's a crapshoot as to whether both beers will last until you arrive. IIRC mid-week IvI releases have been lasting until ~2PM.

 

I was at Bissell this past Wednesday (first time) for the Lux release. Not knowing what to expect, we arrived at 11:55. There were maybe 75 people in line, and it moved pretty quickly. We were allowed to buy two 4-packs of Substance and three 4-packs of Lux. We hung around after buying to have a few beers. The line actually died down pretty quickly, and by the time we left (1:30ish) the line was small (inside) and they hadn't sold out of either beer... not to get your hopes up, maybe people don't get as excited for Lux, but that was my experience. Since there's not a great first post write up to the thread (like Treehouse) of the in's and out's of visiting and after reading through the thread and Bissell's website I have a couple questions...

Heading to Old Orchard for a few days tomorrow (Wed-Fri). Was thinking of going to Bissell Thursday and was wondering what time I should get there to make sure I don't miss getting cans. Also will Substance be available as well a NG? And where do I find limits for that day?

Each day they have substance so yes it will be available thursday with nothing gold. If it is like usual, it'll be 2 4-packs subby and 3 4-packs of nothing gold. They did not put batch sizes on the release schedule, but I would assume NG is a 40 bbl batch so like 400 cases. THey haven't been selling out of the 40 bbl batches until 130 pm or so, but there won't be as much substance. They open at 11 for NG releases, if it were me and I wanted both varieties I'd plan to be there no later than 11:30-12:00 and be prepared to wait in line for at least 30 minutes. For info on the release, check their twitter or ig accounts thursday morning.

 

Appreciate it! I'm use to Treehouse lines so ~30 minutes will be fine. I need some getaway time as I will be the only guy travelling with all woman and girls so I've decided I get to go buy great beer while they do other things.

 

My buddy is at old orchard all week and he is headed there today as well. He promised me some Maine deliciousness so I'm excited. Enjoy the substance

 

Just an fyi, arrived today at 1145 am to NG release to no line and probably 300 cases of NG left. They opened at 11.

 

I may just swing down when I leave work and try my luck. I miss the slow weekday releases...

 

I got there at like 12:15. Line was short and took me like 5 minutes. Got my allotment of each and a draft and enjoyed the place for awhile before heading back to my fatherly duties. Was mellow and lots of beer left. Cheers!

 

Just got in and out quickly. No Subby left but still around 60-80 cases of NG left. Yeah bub!!

Probably but you never know sometimes what a Saturday release (Of a good, non-rotational beer) will bring. I've been there before open expecting small crowds only to get shut out. Other times I expected big lines but walked in and out no problem. I think you'll be fine but in my mind it'd be worth try to get there a little early to ensure getting cans.
