For a while now, I have been getting on line for weekend releases right at the time they start selling cans (usually Sun 10am) and I have never been shut out. There usually ends up being another 15 to 30 people behind me by the time I get to the cashier. They get their's too based on status tweets from SC which then indicate cases still being available in the taproom. Sometimes they drop the limit from four 4-pks to three about midway through to ensure everyone in line gets some. Granted the more popular ones like Oops Nelson are usually gone by later that same day.

This is such a weird time. I don't really get how this is gonna work. This has shitshow written all over it.

This is Cow Harbor weekend in NP Village. Sunday is the big day with race, parade and other activities all day. Road closures. Minimal activities on Saturday. Otherwise SC would have to sit on the cans for another week.

I think this will be their most crowded release yet. They usually do a good job of setting and adjusting limits. As said, typically if you are in line at opening, you get beer. I typically don't wait in lines, but will for these guys. Typically I get in line 45 minutes before opening, end up at about the corner and get beer. Who knows if this approach will work for this release.

Only been to one SC release (late June) which was on a Friday, but also at 4:00 IIRC. Arrived after opening and had to wait in line for maybe a half hour. Guessing this one will be a bit more hectic so may get there by 3:30...if I can get up there at all. :grimacing:

Would love to get these beers, but #linelife days are far over for me. Too many great beers around now. I have loved the original "One" and all "One" variants.

Agreed. 4pm on a Saturday is a pretty shitty time for a release.

I really don't get 4pm. It's a Saturday, the tap room is open at noon right?

Especially considering it gives the Long Island OH mules plenty of time to setup shop again...

I think the race is on Saturday. Went to SC on Tuesday and saw signs posted for road closures on woodbine until 10:30am. That's why they couldn't do it Saturday morning.

3 one variants guarantees a shitshow, I'll grab pours next week...

All the local breweries in NYC area should do releases at same time to thwart those who's intentions are more than just drinking good beer.

Hopefully when Grimm opens they either do midweek releases or Saturday releases at 10am on Saturday. Heads will be exploding all over the place.

I can't make this can sale, but with only 100 cases per beer, could be a shitshow.

agreed. its cool that they do these variants in one sale (like the "oops" beers), but i would prefer they can just one "one" beer and triple the yield. they are more popular than they give themselves credit for lol

I wonder if the line reaches 200 people (100 cases of each, half a case pp limit) before 4pm will they just sell it then or have them wait until 4pm. Maybe Sand City wants to be fair to that food vendor who is showing up at 2pm that he will get two hours of sales.

Yeah, once I saw that it's 100 cases (and 200 allotments) of each, my decision was made to sit this one out.

Hopefully they'll do a weekday release of a One variant at some point... I do love me some Galaxy.

I'm really debating staying away. Cow Harbor day that day means that the town is closed in the morning and parking will be impossible in general. Hopefully it hangs around until Sunday and I can snag some then.

This already happens, albiet at varied times. LIC is having a can release this Saturday along with OH. Last weekend Interboro had a huge release at the same time as OH. People just race from one brewery to another.

For anyone who goes and gets all 3, would be very cool to do a blind taste test with all 3.
