    eh.... tonewood is about 25 mins away... Eight & Sand isn't too far either probably 15-20 mins from Kelly Green

    also.. this isn't a recommendation nor a non recommendation for either of those places, just letting you know what's nearby

    i've had fuego and a few other tonewood things and they are good to ok.. haven't had any 8nSand

    @digdug1810 is about right. Three 3's is probably similar in proximity, but from the opposite direction

    Supposedly Bonesaw Brewing is going to open up right next door, but haven’t heard any recent news other than “Opening 2017”

    This isn't a reason to make the trip, but the growler station at Clayton Liquors nearby is pretty NJ focused, and will be worth a visit if you're in the area already. There's 20 taps, and they keep their Beermenus page up to date. I'm down there a few times a year and always find 4 to 6 crowlers I'd like to bring home. Brotherton always seems to have a couple of taps there lately, too.

    I went to Tonewood Brewing last week. Apparently they changed how they were making some of the beer, so it looks like I caught the post-change era. Fuego is fantastic and the pricing is pretty great for it. Their other offerings are slightly above average. Their pale ale, Chief, was pretty good... I enjoyed their porter.

    I also went to Eight & Sand and just thought they were okay. Nothing out of the ordinary there. Not bad brews, but not fantastic.

    Next to Kelly Green though, is Human Village Brewing, it's just further down the street. I've heard absolutely nothing about them though.

    Glasstown is 40 minutes away - maybe a little less. That might seem like a long time for some, but I think if you're travelling far to get to Kelly Green (like the 1.5 hours it would take me), going the extra 40 is worth it.

    I think Spellbound/Village Idiot are probably within 30-40 minutes also.

    I suppose it was tactical to have the bottle release pre-anniversary

    Details

    This Friday June 23rd when we open @ 3pm we will be releasing bottles of Pecher (Batch #2), our barrel fermented Saison aged on Peaches from Duffield's Farm. **A mere 150 bottles of Pecher were packaged in 750ml bottles for sale @ $20/bottle ~ 4 bottles/person limit.**
    ~~~~
    ~Pecher is a saison brewed with copious amounts of rye, fermented and aged in red wine barrels for ~6 months with our house mixed culture, then refermented on heaps of succulent peaches from our friends at nearby Duffield's Farm . The beer is golden in color, super effervescent, with notes of peach, spice, oak tannins, and a velvety body finishing dry with a very subtle acidic note. Batch #2, now with less pulp!
    Has anyone opened a Twelve Avenues recently?
    A friend brought one over Monday night and we are not sure if we had a bad bottle or if what we experienced is a systemic issue. Basically, there was a tremendous amount of trub in the bottle. I usually have no issues with floaties or particulates in my glass, but this was next level. Like bottom of a batch of homebrew bad. The top half of the bottle had some floaties, but the bottom half was pure sludge. Curious if anyone else encountered this with this beer or if we just got a bad bottle.
    Wow, so sorry for the bad bottle...and sorry for the extremely late reply to this, I dont come in here that often. Im going to DM you, I'll get you a bottle on me, that definitely was not normal and never should have made it out the door to you.
    Cheers,
    Ed
    That is very nice of you.
    This is a great example of why, if you have a complaint, you should raise it with the brewery (or restaurant etc.) instead of asking the question in public.
