Weren't tickets free the last couple years for Rare Day and Prop Day? I still plan on entering and going if I win their lottery, but I thought $30 was a change from prior years. Maybe that means it'll be easier to win the lottery. :astonished:

Last year you won free tickets but then had the option to buy a Prop for $20 (and Rare for $80 as an unannounced bonus). So yeah this is pretty much just a $30 over the top for the same value

How easy was it to win the prop lottery in previous years?

Well, I tend to look at it as those that won the lottery last year got a crazy good value that probably shouldn't have been as such. I think getting a snifter and 15 ounces of Bourbon County variants is a pretty solid deal. Plus, you get to lock in a couple bottle of Prop and Reserve.

    Scratch that...shitty deal, don't enter.

To those that won, really easy. To me, who lost on Rare Day in 2015 and Prop Day in 2016, note easy at all.

It wasn't really free, they made money charging $20 over Rare prices at Binnys....You basically paid for it by a premium on purchasing it at GI.

So if you win, you will essentially be paying $100 for 2 bottles of prop and 1 bottle of reserve? Plus 5 tokens for pours. Doesn't sound like a bad deal.

That's only if you were a sucker enough to buy one.

And don't forget, they "under"-charged as compared to some places like Jewel on Black Friday of last year with $100 bottles of Rare.

Giving me Dark Lord Day vibes with the outdoor market.

And assuming they give you the full size BCBS snifter again that's a $10 value, plus the tote bag they were selling for $10-15 last year....

Rare Day tickets were $40, included pours of each variant, and had the option of buying 3 bottles at $60 each. Don't remember what else was included.

Thanks for clarifying. I knew you had to still pay for the bottles, which obviously makes sense. I didn't remember the $40 ticket...probably because I didn't win.

I guess I need more grandmas and homeless people to enter for me this year.

Given they are moving this from the barrel warehouse to the tap room street (it sounds more like the Block Party) and they continue to increase BA output, they could probably quadruple or more the number of tickets compared to last year.

Hoping to get lucky this year. Sounds like a great afternoon. Gladly pay $100 for 2 Props, Knob Creek Reserve, full 2017 line up sample, & a snifter!
