I'll be in Portland 10/19-10/22. Any chance of grabbing Swish on Saturday without waiting in line? The group I'm with is anti-line, so I'm thinking we could head over in the afternoon sometime. Anyone familiar with how long the line lasts and quantities usually available? Thanks!

It's gonna be tough/impossible since this is the first swish release of the season.

The HTFGATT release was a bit of a shit show last weekend so I can only imagine Swish.

Good luck and do the line...will be worth it for Swish.

Thanks guys! Any chance they'll have it on draft in the taproom?

Hey all, a couple questions about the brewery. Anyone remember what their winter holiday hours were last year? I'm planning to visit during the week between Christmas and New Years and would love to swing by. Also, when does swish stop getting released?

    Thanks!!

I'm sure there is a place where I might be able to find the answer (or maybe not until they release Swish again in a couple weeks), but how crazy is it when they release Swish? We will be out from Oregon during their release in early November and would love to grab some cans, but not sure I can really convince the fiancee to stand in lines for hours for beer. Cheers!

Depends. The first release will be crazy. Subsequent releases should mellow out some to the point where you might not even have to wait in line if you show up later. A couple of times last year I was able to walk right in and out with Swish after noontime. But if you get there an hour before they open you should be guaranteed to get cans. Once they open it's probably no more than a 30-45 minute wait unless the line is stupidly long.

So if you want cans, get there early. If you're OK potentially not getting cans but really want to avoid the wait, you can chance it and show up after the initial rush.

Yep, Swish is their one true "big name" beer so it will probably sell out relatively fast, but on the other hand their brewing capacity has increased so this year it should be a little easier. Cans for the past month have almost always lasted until the next day so while there will certainly be a line, you should have a better chance now than you might have before. Last Swish release I went to was a half hour wait, there was a big crowd but they had six registers open so it went relatively quickly.

Heading up to Portland for the Dinner relase (have the 9am timeslot) - if I want to get some cans from Bissell, would it be ok to get there around 11am or a bit after? Would want to check out the taproom too but I saw that doesn't open until noon.

yes, although its the last nothing gold release of the year and there are going to be a bunch of people in town for the dinner release like you. Assuming its the same batch size as recently, they haven't been selling out until late in the day. Also, they open cans only at 11 am saturday, so getting there at 11 will likely be at least a 30 minute wait, maybe longer so you won't need to hang around too long until the taproom opens.

Awesome Tap Takeover with The Veil brewing and Bissell tonight at the Great Lost Bear in Portland.

If I had to put The Veils beers in order of what I liked first to last it would be as follows

    Red Ferrari
    Dirt Dirt Nap Nap
    JC from Trillium
    Never Forever - Passion
    Never Forever - Blood
    Kendellson

Free Teku's to people ordering. Great night, packed but only one beer had kicked as of 7.

Only made it through three.. red farrari, ddnn, and never forever (apparently the blood orange one is actually called never together). All were great! 5 bucks a tulip was nice, too.

According to their release schedule, today (10/13), The Substance is available and nothing else. On this random Friday in the fall with not much going on in the area, do I still need to get there at open? Or is it possible to wander in there around 2ish and grab some 4 packs?

    Thanks!
