Junkyard seems to making the rounds today with Galaxy Experimental IPA and Mexican Style Hot Chocolate Stout. Seems like the usual places plus Princeton's.

Junkyard tweeted that deliveries to Twin Cities stores will happen today and tomorrow.

Big Top - Midway still has a few cases of 2016 Darkness for $19.99.

Surdyks had a bunch of Galaxy Sue, Spector, and Rum King this evening. They were also just putting out a couple cases of Backwoods Bastard. Some DKML left next to the Breakfast Stout.

France 44 was busy today putting out the two Junkyard crowlers ('Galaxy Experimental IPA' and 'Mexican Style Hot Chocolate (Far Out Stout Series)'), Indeed 'Rum King', Lagunitas 'Born Yesterday', Schell's Noble Series 'Electrik Empress', Toppling Goliath 'Galaxy Dry Hopped Pseudo Sue', Indeed 'Specter', and Oskar Blues 'Death By Coconut'. France 44 will have Castle Danger 'Mosaic IPA' on Friday.

Castle Danger Mosaic IPA spotted at Maple Grove Total Wine yesterday, wasn't even on shelves yet. Canned on 10/10/17.

I've seen 2016 Darkness sitting around everywhere. Change Darkness to 12 or 16 oz cans Surly! Surly could still do bombers of BA Darkness if they wanted to keep some Darkness in bombers.

whats the best bottle shop to hit after darkness day? specifically around the brooklyn center location or off 100. I went to SLL last year. I am hoping to grab some Rum King, and maybe some lupulin cans.

also would like to add that I would prefer a large selection of local MN beer that is up to date

I've never been to the Hy-Vee mentioned above, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's the best in/near Brooklyn Center. I wouldn't waste your time in that area, because your findings will be significantly better by going elsewhere. If you go through Mpls, there's Zipp's, SLL, and Stenson's (my favorite). Otherwise France 44 could be in your route if driving back down to NE or to the airport.

That's a tricky request since the Tier 1 liquor stores which have a superior selection of local beers are also the ones that sell out of darkness the quickest (most within a couple hours) If you can, make several stops one for your common local beers (liquor stores commonly mentioned in this thread) and one to less popular liquor stores for Darkness. Regardless, if you are planning on getting more than 2 bottles of Darkness you will have to make several stops due to bottle limits almost all liquor stores impose on Darkness.

Anyone try the Founders Backwoods '17 yet? This years is a fresh straight Scotch Ale IMO and tasty for that style.. The Barrel however is non descript,. Every year the barrel presence on this once superb brew diminishes.

i should clarify I am going to darkness day, so I do not even want darkness as I will be getting it at the brewery. Mostly looking for other quality MN brews. SLL was out of Rum King last year when I went, so I am hoping to find some this time. France 44 looks to be pretty close to 100, so I will probably stop there.

Say it ain't so! I just grabbed 2 four packs yesterday. Now I have an excuse to crack one sooner than later. I'm not a big fan of Scotch Ale but love what the barrel does to this one. Will be bummed if my experience is similar to yours.

I hate to be that "last year was better guy" but yeah, every year Backwoods drops further in my personal pantheon. The first years Founders showed up here (2012?) I bought more than a case & loved every drop. I'll buy a four pack if I see it, but won't hunt this one up anymore. I'm sure it will be gone fast anyways.

I thoroughly enjoyed this year’s. You get the big toastiness from the barrel that makes Backwoods Bastard great. It might have been better in the past, but it is still my favorite Scotch Ale.

Idk about this years, but normally I enjoy the central waters BA scotch ale more by a hefty amount. Still always like backwoods though
