Honestly, what is stopping someone from sending them a spam email everyday saying I am coming to pick up beers and then not show up? I understand its a d-bag move but at least one would get their beer and still be "playing by the rules"

This is one of those hypothetical questions that doesn't really deserve an answer. If you want to beat the system or "stick it to the man", there will always be a way. However, like most programs/incentives/memberships/retailer policies.... Bruery's "call ahead before you pickup" system does not account for such douchebaggery.

If you look around the fulfillment center next time you pop in, you'll probably see some stacks of boxes with pretty old dates on them. I'm sure some people do that.

The last two times I emailed society about bottle pick ups I got a reply within 30 minutes saying that it is ready for pick up. if you magically find yourself at the bruery without any notice you could always email them, get a few tasters and cross your fingers. worst case scenario is you have a few tasters and go home empty-handed. then they put your pick up back where they found it.
It's not a perfect (for everyone) system but nothing ever is.

the last time i tried to pick up was about 5 or 6 months ago (maybe longer). i sent an email as i was heading out from LA, which is what i used to always do. got a quick response and was told i wouldn't be able to get my beer because they needed a 24 hour notice. this is as I'm on my way to the Bruery. i politely asked if they could make an exception, said my schedule was busy etc.. and the answer was no, we need 24 hours.

i suppose i could try again some time if i find myself down there, but that experience, and the email exchange i had, makes me less inspired to try (that's putting it the nice way)

Maybe you need to start clicking the shipping option

    Back to beer...
Why Wait For Wednesday is fantastic out of a crowler a week in. Unless you don’t like raspberries over a creamy chocolate porter, go get a pour now and relax in the knowledge that you can order beer, have it stored in a climate controlled environment, and then, by notifying in advance, have it boxed and ready for pick up at your leisure.

Yes, very delicious on draft. Great balance. I'm happy to report the crowlers I shipped arrived safely. ( I've had bad experiences from a few brewery's). I Hope my friend will enjoy it as well.

Seriously. If you're too busy to pick it up have it shipped, that's why they have that option. Surely the reason why you're busy all the time is because you're hustling and making tons of money so don't say it's too expensive haha.

You’re overly complicating it, if its a recent release in my experience they will accomidate you no matter what. If it’s five months of beer, do everyone a favor and give them a heads up.

I agree I took a new union job and I’m the low guy that could get forced to work. If the beer is important enough you’d be able to make sure it works out for your schedule. There’s bottle releases that I go to that you have to show up hours in advance with the hope u get it. Very excited to start getting Some new great beers from The Bruery.

Guess you didn’t read my post where I
Guess you didn’t read my posts about actually not being able to get my beer

It’s funny that you say I am over complicating things. I would actually argue that whoever came up with the 24 hour policy is the one who over complicated things, not the customers.

Maybe Bruery should start implementing an Amazing Race game to do pick-ups. Where you have to solve puzzles and go on a scavenger hunt

I know you likely meant this as a joke, but I do think that would be quite fun.

Here's the thing though, your situation is very unique in that you don't know when you'll be in OC until the day of. That's unfortunate that it works out that way, but maybe you could see if they'll pack it up for you and hold it until you get there.

Also, the last two times I went (September and June) there was only one person at the desk and one person hustling boxes. Maybe I just happened to go in when lunches overlapped or something.

ha. actually my work schedule is the main reason why it's difficult for me to give 24 hours. and i am starting to have stuff shipped now

for the record PMR reached out to me to try and help me out. even offering to keep my beer at his desk. so I give him huge props for that. i'll stop bitching in this thread for a while and go back into hibernation

it's hard to stay mad at the Bruery. it would be like if you were dating Olivia Munn, and she had an annoying habit of spilling food in your car, or breaking your collectible brewery tulips. it would be irritating, but also impossible to stay mad

    Patrick is Olivia Munn

come on, shipping to LA is probably less than a couple bottles of Bruery beer (30-40) for the convenience having your beer delivered to you.

    In the dishwasher!?!?!? You madman!!!

I like the gigantic snifters they put out last year. Both have plenty of airspace after dumping in an entire 750.#sololife

On the subject of soloing beers. Ukulele is quite a challenge. Very sweet but a little hot from the peppers. It's jut okay as a beer though.

When it comes to getting wax off though the key is to let all your waxed bottles get to about 3-4 years of age at which point the wax dries out and becomes very brittle.

    I second this.

Meaning I really like the 750ml snifters. I use them often.. I think they are perfect for BT and the Old Ales. Drinking Chrono 24 Old Ale tonight in one tonight. (Side note its drinking great).

But I never dump a full 750 in it I prefer smaller pours so I can take advantage of the large vessel to enjoy the nose of the beer.
