    Hot lunch, cold beer . . .

Beautiful golden amber color. Bright and clear, the others would do well to copy this inviting appearance.

Aroma of somewhat muted caramel sweetness. Absolutely no off notes of any sort with an inviting offer of drinkability.

Taste is much like the aroma but richer with more depth. Some hop presence mid palate that recedes by the finish which is clean, quick, and without a hint of bitterness of roasted malt or hops, and a slightly lingering note of malt richness. The aftertaste actually improves on the flavor.

Made it to about 10 on a Monday morning. Time for a treat!

I love African Queen hops, and the fact that they distributed this one in the wild is nothing short of amazing. It probably doesn't get as much love because it's a Pale Ale. But it's pretty explosive in hop flavors - should be considering it has Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, African Queen and Centennial.

I'd love to have this on a daily basis. Much love to the MT crew.

So yesterday night and over the wee hours of the morning we had a bad windstorm... knocked out power at work. I got there, slept in my car for an hour and a half waiting to see if it would come back on, then my boss got in and said to go home. Celebrating with some nice IPAs to go with the bitter nip in the air.

A late breakfast means a late lunch. And that means more beer.

Pretty disturbing, huh? It's good but creepy as hell. A cool watch overall.

Settling into our new flat for the next couple of days, with a bottle I just bought at the "craft beer bar" across the street!:

Long day yesterday traveling by ferry to Africa(Ceuta, then by bus to Tetuan, then Tangier) and then back to Spain (Algeciras) for a tour with one other American couple (that was the whole group - the 4 of us!) from Seattle. Great time/ trip!

Got back late last evening, so no new beers or reviews. To make up for not posting on Sunday, a pic of yours truly on a one hump "camel" (Dromedary) while in Morocco:

Try to keep the snickering to a dull roar, BA brothers and sisters. Salamelecum (Peace be with you), from Sevilla, Spain!

Thanks Bobby, it's great to see you back on the thread again! I'm curious as to how the 14 is tasting as I have a few left myself? Cheers...

The 14 has held up nicely, but I wouldn't wait too much longer to crack into your stash. I'm still trying to figure out your favorite dive hideout in Chesterton...

Not much drinking yesterday, a NBS beer, a couple Miller Lites, and a pre-concert local beer. Local to Richmond, that is, from where we have just returned. Concert was a considerable success, though the rock-jazz- fusion jam band Agents of Good Roots did have some rough spots from 10 years off from touring together. Photos from last night:

Recorded only a small snippet in video, but the sound was actually pretty decent, should've grabbed a song (or part of, since they all were extended to some degree). Did find an interesting site where they have recorded concerts, one of which was used for this YouTube (which I believe is a concert another friend recorded and gave me a copy of the "album" he mixed):

Not unsurprisingly, he separately made the trip from NOVA, and we ran into each other after not seeing each other for a good 6 years or so. Music bringing people back together, in one way.

Anyhow, since they came together in Richmond, figured I'd have a Richmond beer, given to me by a much newer friend than those jokers at the concert, @vabeerguy. Beer bringing people together, in one way

BrozBrozNightNight from The Veil seems like one of those no-IBU beers, though I'm not sure if it is. Mango, papaya, very light bite, tropical in general with a more wheat or oat malty backbone. Very slight clean, drying bitterness only noticeable very late after a few sips.

Big Papi from Commonwealth is actually more juicy than fruity, with a little mint or herbal aspect in back. It's not very bitter, either, but seems a little more than the Veil beer.

Thanks for both beers, @vabeerguy - looking forward to our next drink together.

P.S.: If you care to check out more, here's a couple actual videos of AGR in concert, here are two I found, both from presumably about 20+ years ag:

    Next up: Foeder Gold.

Due to the RateBeer Festival back in January, a few of American Solera's beers made it out to the SF Bay Area. I picked up a bottle and waited until now to crack it open. I regret not buying more of these, because this is one tasty sour! Effervescent, tart, woody, and a fruit-like sweetness, this is probably one of the most harmonious sours I've had. Good stuff!
