A real "problem" that I've had in the past, too. Despite my uber-strong preference to support local stores, I've found myself going into Total Wine far more than I anticipated for just this reason: they have a killer singles selection. I recently went in & filled up a sixer with hoppy stuff I haven't tried & really glad I did, because a few were excellent & a few were stinkers.

I still miss Petschen's in West St. Paul. They'd let you grab any beer out of any six pack & charge an extra quarter for it or something. It was aweseome!

A few year's back Old Chicago-Roseville sold tickets to a tasting of Utopias. It was something like $15 for 2 ounces of Utopias and a pint of another Sam Adams beer. It would be cool if they'd do that again. I wouldn't mind trying another vintage.

Just one case? I guess you only make it up to the cabin once or twice a year.

I liked Four Firkins because it offered singles of just about every 12 bottle or can that was in the store as a 4-pack or a 6-pack.

I found a bottle shop on the south side of Indianapolis, called 'Parti-Pak Liquors', that allows the customer to pick singles from any 4-pack or 6-pack on the shelf. The first time I was in the store, I did not understand why there were so many split beer carriers, until I found out about the singles shopping option.

Andover top ten has told me anytime I want a single of something to just ask and they will most likely break up a pack of something to do so. Not sure how many other stores are this friendly but it's probably worth asking at stores with singles/BYO 6 pack sections.

Also went to Woodmans in Eau Clare WI Saturday, loaded the trunk up with beer and turkey meat/grocery's. Hinterland Maple Bock 6 pack for 8.99 ok beer but nothing great. This is the most random post of irrelevant randomness l have ever seen on this site! Nice work! Today I saw a guy by 3 24 packs of Busch Lite, then I filled up my car with gas, and the guy in front of me got beef jerky and 3 lottery tickets. I saw that Lagunitas IPA was $8.99 at some store by me. Also Bent Paddle Cold Press was $9.99 at another place. Enjoy.

Hey I was Hammering on that trunk full of beer. Ya I know this is the twin cities, nobody cares about dark lagers unless they think it's a ale.

There's a little shop in Canal Park (across the street from Canal Park Brewing) that had BCBS in mid-late december. I was able to grab 4 there. Otherwise, Mount Royal is one of the better bottle shops out there and will have lots of other great beers to grab while you're there.

So Dsdb apparently dropping today according to BP, does this mean MG and everyone else gets it when deemed worthy? Or do people expect it everywhere today? I ask as I'm in charge of getting my buddy a bottle since he's in aussieland
