I love how they approached it too. They brew a beer that's right in line with some of the best NE Ipas out there, and instead of doing a big release or marketing it like that, they release it in the audition series with a casual post on Instagram. Shows that lines and crowds can be avoided. If they called this beer New Hazen and posted a pic of an ice man pour, they would have had lines out the door.

Yea this release slipped right through my radar, would've grabbed some had I known. In general I just love CW. Everything I've had from them has just been so solid.

I'll add to the lovefest. Picked up some Void a while back when people on here were talking it up. Drank one, and was a bit underwhelmed. Sat on it for a bit and had another one a few weeks later and fell in love. I now find myself reaching for it over Founders Breakfast Stout (which i'm a big fan of)

I had an Audition, then followed it immediately with a Green. I thought they were both very tasty (superb!) but I wouldnt say they were very close. Full disclosure, I think I liked Audition better.

This batch of Spiral Architect blue label is killlller. Had a pour of that double galaxy too and I'm bummed I missed those cans. I predict it graduates from the Audition series.

Facebook has "re-release" of orange space coyote - thought orange has been out at least a few times?

Whatever version of Orange this is - it’s fantastic. Galaxy is one of my favorite hops so there is some bias but I’m going back tomorrow for another max allotment.

Let me start this off by saying I love what CW is doing and as a Hamden native, their beers are delicious but I was just curious to see if anyone else had an opinion on their marketing/can labeling.

For example, the can for both Oatmeal Void and Coffee Oatmeal Void look identical. In fact, it doesn't reference "Coffee" on the front of the COV at all. Both use the same exact can.

Also, Spiral Architect green label vs. blue label? Completely different beer but it has the same name? Is this their version of a "Curiosity series?"

Like I said, I've loved their offerings so far and will continue to buy....but the marketing of their beers has been kind of strange/off-putting to me so far. Was curious if anyone felt similar.

Spiral is the same base beer that just uses different hops. Their Audition series is more like "Curiosity". They are also a new company and likely use the same/similar labels b/c it is so expensive for pre printed cans due to the fact that they have to be ordered in massive quantities. For example, NEBs Spin Cycle series and Weiss Trash Culture both have plastic sleeves as opposed to pre screened cans and they brew tons of those beers. Finally, I know that each different label has to go through a review at the state level for approval and each different label also carries a fee that the brewery must pay. For a "start up" company having a different, preprinted can for every beer can become quite expensive.

The coffee Void thing was definitely weird. I'm pretty sure the different label colors for Space Coyote and Spiral Architect indicate it's the same base beer with a different hop combo ala the various versions of Fort Point from Trillium. Audition is their equivalent to the Curiosity series. Overall I think their labels and logo are nice and haven't had a problem with their marketing. Aside from maybe just reminding people of the differences between the different labels of those few beers, I think they're doing great.

Interesting.. I didn't even think of the cost factor. You definitely make a good point
