Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

Bloomingdale Binny's released their Black Note bottles today. They didn't receive much, so 2 per person was the limit.

I was also told BA Ten Fidy and Abraxas next week

 

So, I had the toasted marshmallow version tonight.

This was a liquid candy bar; milk chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla & nougat flavors. If you shy away from sweet stouts this will not be for you; however, if you've ever wished you could drink a Snickers you're in luck.

I still haven't had the "regular" version (it's in the fridge!), and I can't speak to consistency, but I enjoyed this version.

 

I've never tried BA ten fidy before. Hopefully I can find some here in the city. Anyone see it yet?

The brewery release just happened out in CO on 11/13. Not sure how quick it hits distro channels. Someone posted in the Black Note thread late last week that their Binny's ran out of BN, but he got BA Ten Fidy. Someone asked if it was 16 or 17 and I don't believe they responded to clarify. My guess is that a Chicagoland Binny's didn't get this year's release before the brewery sold it to the public. But we all know stranger things have happened. Maybe a MILM scored it for them...

Not sure but also not safe to say. The Beer Temple has an Abraxas release party Tuesday night so it’s conceivable the beer is elsewhere tomorrow too

With all this talk about this beer - in a different thread - has there been any news on the BAMCC release? This is one I've never had and would love to get my hands on. It was early December last year.

 

Yeah, good question. They brewed both BAMCC and Bob for FoBaB, but someone asked about this on their IG a couple days ago, and they didn't respond.

 

Yeah it looks like it's been in December and in June in the past so a tough pattern to determine. Also, it's been at The Green Lady but now they'll have their own spot open. Not sure how that affects logistics

 

Talked to the Spiteful rep at Binnys BA Classic last week. He said it’s coming later this year. He was also pouring last years batch from the bottle. Apologized for not having the BA Goddamn Pigeon. Very cool dude.

 

thanks man. how quickly does Abraxas tend to sell out? not sure i can make it over tomorrow night, but will do my best if it doesn't usually last past the night.

 

Well-known, annual stouts in Chicago never tend to last very long. I'd try to get your hands on one sooner than later.

Stop guys, Im getting excited. BA Ten Fiddy is a top BA stout for me. Love to try it out this year.
