I've come to the conclusion , Cali breweries new to Texas, are scared of the Houston market. :grinning:

Doubt you will get Velvet Merkin or Merlin. We have had FW in Chicago for a couple years and neither has made it here.

So they want to sell to broke hippies and cowboys, but not the oil tycoons? Typical Cali environmental BS.

They haven't even released Velvet Merkin in bottles yet pal...maybe that's why you haven't seen it. No idea on the Merlin...it's just a regular oatmeal stout. You guys do get Parabola, Abacus, and the Anniversary beers so I wouldn't be complaining.

Wasn't complaining Pal. And was just telling you after 2 years in this market neither of those beers have shown up, and did I say Velvet Merkin in bottles? Didn't think so.

I have a feeling if they're bottling it next year it will make it to most, if not all, of their markets. Hell it's a major component of XVI this year so they've obviously upped their production of it.

We can only hope so. Really looking forward to XVI! Loved XIV and seeing that XVI is fairly stout heavy I can only hope it is close to XIV.

I actually liked XIII better and it was definitely stout heavy. XIV had a bit too much Double DBA in it for my tastes.

Never has XIIi so can't compare, but if you have one you want to send me I will give you my full review.. Thought XIV was very complexed, lots of leather, tobacco, roast, etc.

Don't worry all of my friends down south, I'll pour out plenty of Double Jack in your honor. Hell I'll pour out Sculpin and whatever else you want.

How disappointing will it be if it is only their contract beer for Trader Joes. Look where Trader Joes is opening Dallas and Austin, just saying.
