Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

We thinkin Chicago Binnys got hit yet?

 

Last year it sold out during the event, so if it's like that again...you'll need to be at the event.

 

To add to this though, the LP Whole Foods had a case sitting out on the floor a few days after. So keep your eyes peeled for that.

 

Just called Binny's Grand and they said they did not get Abraxas today. The person I talked to also said they don't know when they will be getting it or how much they will be getting since the LP Binny's will be taking most of the allotment. I kind of got the sense she was telling me not to count on getting it from Grand and to go to LP for the release instead.

She may have just been avoiding a potential angry customer if they only end up getting a case or so and sell out really quickly.

 

I wonder if they got BA Fidy in

 

On that note, other Binny's do not hold off until the release time at LP. They put it out when they get it

Missing the days when abraxas was $20. $30 for a non barrel aged beer makes the choice easy to hunt for multiples or not.

 

It makes the choice to not buy any easy.

 

Is it really up to $29.99 MSRP? I don't remember paying that much at LP last year though maybe I just don't remember

 

It was $22.99 last year at Binny's LP (which is the same price it was in 2015 as well I believe).

 

True, one of my favorites from when I lived in STL so cave for one every year. I think it's retailing at 28.99.

 

What sucks even more is when you have to buy another Perennial beer just to get 1 Abraxas.

 

I just paid $22.99 at my local place for this year's.

 

I'll be shocked if Binny's has marked it up $6 this year, but I could be wrong.

I think what sucks must be the stores you're buying it at. There are plenty of places that sell it without requiring any other purchase Beer Temple, Binny's, Whole Foods and Crown Liquors are all places I have purchased before without having to buy another Perennial beer.

 

True. Unfortunately its the closest option for me.

 

Not entirely true. For example, the Bloomingdale Binny's was sitting on Black Note for a week, and was telling everybody that they would release it the following Friday. They are also releasing BA Ten Fidy and Abraxas this Friday, and I'd assume that means they either already have it, or will get it in the middle of this week.

 

Dang, guess I just got hosed. Still beats waiting in line for an hour to get one I guess.

 

True, but you're looking at lines at the first two, and a crap shoot to be there on delivery day at the 3rd since it just sits out on the floor and disappears before ppl get out of work.
