I guess I'll check more WF, didn't realize more got it besides the LP location.

I know last year I didn't make it in time to beer temple after work, but I did find a bottle at crown for 23.99.

 

They've got fantastic voyage for 21.99 where it was 18 at binny's so likely just gouging at that price. Someone said it was 29.99 at Capone's so I thought that was the norm. Hopefully get lucky at BT, Binny's, or WF this week.

 

Naperville Binny’s only got 12 and sold out. They’ll have another case but are saving it for Black Friday (god knows why)

 

I remember passing on Abraxas when it was shelf turding in Denver ad few years ago because I didn't want to have to check my bag on a flight home....never seen one in the wild since....

 

That is a terrible idea. When I'm buying 6 goddamn variants of BCBS, I won't even be thinking about adding an Abraxas to that order. Especially with what they charge for one.

Hey folks, Brandon here. I regret to inform everyone that the two barrel aged beers scheduled for release this coming Wednesday will not be released.

When tasting though the barrels to be used for these 2 beers, there was a strong off-flavor detected (acetaldehyde) inconsistent with the beers we want to be selling and sending to market. We were able to determine that that it was a particular brand of bourbon barrel, and that all of the barrels of that particular brand were affected, and subsequently dumped today.

Alas, we have a good amount of barrel stock that will be ready soon, and we still plan on those two beers being the next two we release in the Vlad series. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and trust me, I'm as disappointed as some of you may be. At the end of the day, our commitment is to quality, and these barrels were not up to our standards.

Transient/Beer cellar BA Neckbeard Nectar has been announced, Black Friday release at Beer Cellar. Per the announcement it has "absurd amounts of vanilla" & was aged for a year in Weller & Blanton barrels. Each release has been better than the prior year so I have high hopes for this year.

 

kudos for taking this approach & not trying to release "wild Vlad" & playing it off

 

On the other hand, "Wild Vlad" has a great ring to it!

 

Anyone seen any of the BA Prarie beers yet. Noir, Vanilla Noir, Coffee Noir, and Bourbon Paradise should be hitting soon.

 

I was going to ask the same thing. Never had any of those Prairie beers!

 

It does doesn't it? I'm in Seattle today & was BA'ing at Fremont Brewing enjoy a mid day draft of KDS spice wars & it just came to me....

 

I was really looking forward to that release, but like others have said, well done on making the right decision.

 

Shame on Hailstorm. Don't they realize we are beer nerds and we don't care? Why not save the inferior product and then have a "learn to detect off flavors" night and use that beer as an example. It is correct procedure not to sell an beer that is flawed, but give out some free samples so nerds can see what went wrong is actually a learning experience and I personally would think it is pretty cool. "Oh, yeah I can see how this could have been amazing if it didn't have that flavor. Thanks for sharing the vision and teaching me what that off flavor imparts in beer."

I thought it was decent. Only had one bottle I drank fresh though.
