Wow. It's one thing to use leftover bottles with no date on them, but using leftover dated bottles is poor form, IMHO. (This is, of course, assuming that's what happened here.)

i think what he meant was there's a chance it could be last year's batch, not just the bottle.

Still some 2017 DSDB at TW Bloomington, and 2016 as well. The cashier said they are running low on 2017. Both are $23 each / 2 PP.

Interesting. I wonder if they made a lot less DSDB this year, if this is just part of the "early week it just came out" rush, or if it's a lot more popular. Several places near me had the last release on shelves for quite a while.

I feel like this happened last year with the release, where an initial, smaller wave of bottles hit the market and sold out quickly. A few weeks later, a larger wave of bottles hit shelves, and sat for a longer period than the first delivery.

Still more DSDB at TW Roseville. Not seeing any around in north suburbs yet. Usually Thursday is the drop day up here.

Did they finally put it out on shelves? Why is TW Roseville specifically doing the "ask at the counter" deal? Anyone? I really hate having to do that, and the employees seem equally annoyed by it.

Yes and agreed. But I can see how it would be hard to enforce customer limits if on the shelf. By the way, you can order online for pickup.

well they used undated 2015 bottles for some of 2016 batch so.. I think it's the case again. Go unmarkerd
I do like how TW Bloomington puts whatever it has behind the counter on display at least.

Liquor Boy SLP still had a few 4pks of Spirit Foul earlier. Also DSDB for $25 and BA Ten for $20.

Also, every liquor store I've been to still has cases of Rum King. Did they really brew that much more this year or have people just lost interest?

I saw Rum King sit around for months last year in the western suburbs.

I bought Rum King last year, not going to this year. Just not very good anymore IMHO.

TW Minnetonka is having a "soft" opening today before they officially open tomorrow. Didn't ask how long they were going to be open. Saw some Spirit Foul, DSDB on the shelf, Surly 8 & 9 on a counter near the back right.

DSDB was $21.99 at Big Discount in Eagan last night. Less than I saw it anyplace last year IIRC.

I just happened to drive by today. Those who got there early crushed the bourbon aisle. I still made out well. Lots of Spirit Foul left as of about noon. And Black Note and Utopias behind the counter.

$199.99 - I assume all TW have same price on it.

Out of curiosity, what bourbons were sitting on the shelves?

The ones I scored were Weller Antique 107 (for $18), Michter's Toasted Barrel Rye, and Elijah Craig 18. I missed Parkers Heritage 11 year, Forrester Birthday and Blantons. They also had Michter's 10 year, but I passed because I'm sitting on a bottle-and-a-half. Trying to remember if there were any more of note.

No Pappy or BTAC, though. I was hoping they'd have some at the grand opening, so I was nervous when I saw the soft open today. But the liquor guy said they wouldn't be getting any.

Edit to keep this on topic: this batch of Spirit Foul is amazing.
