It’s a $25 bottle of BCBS....I get the whole fair access thing, really I do, but anyone lining up for this deserves the fleecing that comes with it. Even if this was available online and done in the most fair way possible it’s still a total rip off for one single bottle.

I’m going to let the new money have this one.

I was takin' the piss a bit with that post. I don't live in Toronto and agree that online releases are the best way to go. However, they are not going to have online releases for every single product. It's just not gonna happen. This release might be important to you......but in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal to the LCBO.

Roughly 50% of the population of the entire Province lives in the Greater Toronto Area........so I can see why they put their focus their.

There are 660 LCBO stores. Equal access would mean every store has the same selection as Summerhill.....that ain't never gonna happen.

I'm with you on the pricing and wouldn't get it (not in Canada at that pric
And you'll be getting it too. I'm not saying to send a single bottle to each LCBO, but limited releases could be held in different cities, not constantly Toronto.

I’m with you on this. Bottleshops in NYC and Brooklyn are already selling it for $10 or $11. The LCBO price is a rip, and those who want to join the Soviet Union bread line to get an allocation, go right ahead. Bottleshops in the Buffalo area should have stock soon, and retail is likely $11-12 a bottle. If I buy a case, and have to pay duty, the savings from buying in Buffalo vs. LCBO more than pays for my car rental and gas.

Last year I asked my sister and brother-in-law, who live in Ann Arbor, to grab some BCBS for me. They went to three different liquor stores around 10am were laughed at for trying to get BCBS "so late in the day." These places got one or two cases and had line ups outside of them beginning at 5am. It was sold out instantly.

Maybe it's cheaper in the US, but depending on where you live, the line ups and mark up at small liquor stores are a reality for people trying to buy BCBS.

I'm undecided if I'll line up next Friday but I need to be in that neighbourhood around 8am anyway, so who knows. Buying a bottle beer shouldn't be such a ball ache, but here we are.

Pretty sure the stuff was sitting on the shelves in New York and Florida for months last year.

My guess here is that the LCBO dropped the ball in regards to requesting allocation. This beer is mass produced. Most of it was probably already destined for retail in the US when the LCBO got confirmation. I know for a fact that at the beginning of October the LCBO was not sure about allocation.

It's pretty easy for them to get more in my opinion. They should approach AB Inbev and advise them how much you want at a reasonable price. If they don't meet their demand the shelf space for other AB Inbev products will be reduced across all LCBO stores. Easy. Done. The LCBO is the one with the power.

It's such a joke for it to be release here 1 bottle per person for $24. I remember when vanilla rye came here. Which is amazing going for around $20. Which is understandable. But I just saw someone post saying they increased the price this year by 150% in the states (not reliable though, so it's probably not true)

I'm not sure where in Florida you're talking about being on shelves. All my buddies usually get some the day of but it doesn't last very long on the shelves. The variants are getting stupid hard to find themselves. After GI sold out it's been a cluster cuss since 2015. Don't get me wrong I love bourbon county. But it's not worth it to me anymore to line up and spend ******ed amounts.

It was $34.70 for a 650ml bomber of BCBS VR at the LCBO. In the US, it was going for $28. Given the exchange rate at the time, it wasn't a rip off. If you were in line at Summerhill when it opened, everyone got it and some people got in line again and grabbed a second bottle.

There's no denying $25 for a 500ml bomber for regular BCBS is expensive, but if you've always wanted a bottle, this is your opportunity. Usually the LCBO gets a decent deal on these things. KBS was $7.40 and CBS is rumoured to be about $8.50. Rochefort's always been a steal at the LCBO as well.

Pretty sure Vanilla Rye was mid thirties. Not that it affects your point.

I definitely saw pics of BCBS at Whole Foods in NY and Florida many months after the release. Just don't recall if it was '15 or '16 or both. '15 had issues.......lol.

You could trade a BOYD for BCBS.......why line-up for BCBS and pay $25. Just dumb.

I don't think cbs can possibly be only 8.50?! Is it coming in 355ml bottles here? $25 for a 750 bomber in the states from the announcements they posted.

It was probably '15 from what I heard a lot still sit on shelves. Waiting for suckers to buy it. I'm the bigger sucker though waiting in line that year for disappointment in Chicago. Smh. Waiting to find out if my rare is infected.

The allocations last year (everywhere) were low - there was definitely precaution exercised after the 2015 infection debaucle. I crossed the border and managed to pick up bottles at several stores on Black Friday - all with one bottle limits and they all acknowledged that they received far less than past years (and no one in western NYstate apparently received ANY variants). I expect more to be flowing this year.
