Budweiser begins space experiments aimed at brewing beer on Mars

Sounds pretty ridiculous! They'll do anything just to get attention/publicity.

 

Talk about a low gravity beer!

 

I hope they use local ingredients.

 

I think that's pretty much the gist of it

 

Matt Damon can grow hops for them.

 

I suppose next we'll see out of this world ads.

 

My money says Mars-brewed Spud would taste exactly the same as it does when brewed here. Those guys are nothing if not consistent.

 

Barley in space is important business. What's next, Uranus, specializing in Helium ice beers? Get toasted and talk like Donald Duck! No, wait, look over there! Market share is slipping into the ether.

 

There is no business model that supports this, for the few hundred folks that may be on mars at some remote time in the future, working a lot to accomplish as much as they can for the cost. You have to wonder how many would drink alcohol, if it were even allowed.

 

This is the most asinine thing I've ever heard when it comes to beer... ABI will do anything to dupe these idiots into buying their products.

 

I wonder if MPA (Mars Pale Ale) will become a trend. Adding more hops and higher ABV content for those long space vessels trips. Sounds cool

 

Bell's may have something to say about that, since that hits close to their Mars IPA. Wonder if trademarks span planets? Either way - hey we can send Bud and a bunch of lawyers to Mars - win/win!

 

Not like "craft" brewers who do innovative, "cool" space-related stuff like this :

I'd love to laugh at AB, but I have to laugh at craft this time around.

 

This is deserving of a beer.

 

Those English sailors yon plying to the corners of the planet had a ration of rum. It's only fair that modern "mariners" would have a mild elixir like Budweiser, isn't it? And it would be local to space, which is cool.
