New in Kentucky

And CBS appears to be everywhere.

 

Not at LB RR and CC. Unless they lied to me.

 

From my understanding some LBs are still waiting on their trucks.

 

Elizabethtown LB got theirs in this morning.

Grabbed a few bottles, and started to drive back, and received a call from another store that I won the raffle for Pappy 15. Amazing day lol

 

Beaumont and Hamburg had CBS sitting on the shelves as recently as 20 minutes ago.

 

Went pretty quick here in Louisville. Total Wine got 8 cases, LB Springhurst had 3, so I wound up with 2 bottles. Only ever had it on draft, so I'm excited to try it again.

 

had to get the kids to school this morning and got nothing... stopped and cox's and party mart. by the time i got to LB on hurstbourne it was all gone.

 

I struck out at both my stops. Looks like I need to to stop working and chase beers.

 

Kroger drawing is Dec. 9. LB has not announced yet.

 

CV Baba finally kicked last night. But BB Imp Dark & Raspy and Bellerophon are still on.

1. What has been the average price per pour of CBS around the KY area? I know one place had pours 10oz for $15. LMAO

2. I stumbled across CBS in the bottle after a day of hunting. I was actually underwhelmed (don’t kill me). I thought it was a good beer, but if you were able get KBS or BCBS or (variants) too then you’re not missing much with CBS. What’s everyone else’s thoughts? Or is it just other breweries have caught up over the years and can put out a better product?

 

I've had CBS twice (both out of bottle) and I was never that impressed. Give me KBS over CBS any day of the week. What I still find funny is that many people spend hours trying to find a beer like this when you can go to Great Flood and get a pour of Tribulation for a fraction of the cost.

 

I went and had a pour of CBS at Trappe tonight (Thanks, @BEERchitect ). I heeded a lot of reviews I'd seen and waited for it to really warm up before I drew any conclusions. Cold, it tasted a lot like KBS with an extra punch of coffee. The nose had a hint of something sweeter, but it was still locked up fairly tight.

By the time it had warmed, evidence of maple was everywhere. My hands and lips started getting sticky like I was wolfing down a stack of pancakes. Maple and barrel notes were all over the nose and flavor, slightly still bitter on the finish from the coffee, but never overly sweet like so many maple bombs I've had. I enjoyed it very much.
