More Brewing Co. (StB) - (2018)

I doubt anyone has asked or that it even warrants a refund. The beer isn't infected or disgusting. It's just undercorbonted. There have been many underbonated beers released in the past by many breweries (and will be in the furure). This is also still utilizing their mobile canning unit. I expect this to be worked out once their own canning line is up and running.

 

I would love to hear what they say if you call and ask... even offer to bring a can in and drink with them to hear their thoughts.

I haven’t had any of the cans from this batch, but it seems there’s enough people on here and Untappd saying it’s undercarbed that it sounds like a legit issue.

Inadequate carbonation is a flaw in the beer making process, and one that would warrant a refund imo. But there’s a large grey area between “undercarbed on purpose for the style” and “inadequate carbonation”. There are also reports of good cans, so it may not be the entire batch.

Like @eppie82 said, I would expect this to get fixed in the future, but that doesn’t change the problem that people spent $ on beer with a flaw.

 

I opened another DDH Dusty and Mozie with friends last night. Same experience. Mozie is almost entirely flat. I'd offer to bring one in to open with them, no expectations of a refund or anything either, but I don't live close enough to make that feasible. Fortunately I only have one of each left.

 

Anyone try the new Vic Secret IPA or the new Falling Colors variant yet?

 

My Mozie is undercarbed as well compared to what I had on tap. Even a little shake to the can couldn't get it to explode. At $16 for a 4 pack I'm expecting something close to what they're serving in the tap room.

 

I stepped up and did some investigative reporting on my own (you’re welcome but somebody has to). The Best Kept Secret is really good and among the better hoppy beers More has done so far. Falling Colors (Caramel and Hazenut) is solid though the Caramel is stronger in the appearance and the aroma than in flavor as the Hazelnut takes center stage as it is wont to do.

 

Similarly, if you went to a restaurant and ordered a coke and it was flat, would you sit there and drink just because it wasn't infected and not disgusting, or would you say, this isn't how I expect my coke to taste, I'd like a new one with more carbonation.

Ppl pay a lot of money for that beer, and for that price, the consumer expects a high-quality product without flaws. Especially those who bought a large quantity and will be getting flat beer in every can making the drinking experience very unpleasant. I plan to message More to see if I get a response, but wondered if anyone else has talked to them about this issue yet and what their response was.

 

Anybody else going for NYE tonight? Anyone have any idea what the special tapping is?

 

Gonna try to hit open tomorrow (3pm) and vulture anything that lasts the night. How about we recklessly speculate a bit? Henna B1 has gone on draft twice more so that’s a possibility. Henna B2 has never been on draft beyond the release. Karma was just on last Saturday so that wouldn’t feel like the most special tapping. BA Karma has never been on draft and would qualify as special. My fearless prediction: BA Karma goes on as well as Henna B1

 

I went by there today, was surprised to see the FC variant had kicked. I thought the Vic Secret was great. Maybe my favorite beer of theirs. Really get pineapple from it, and sometimes I can't get the real specific fruit references people quote when drinking an IPA.

Carbonation/being flat is something that isn't right or wrong - it's varying shades of gray. I had my third can a couple days ago after people here brought it up and agree it's not carbed as well as I'd prefer. But it's far from the point where I'd ask for a refund. Just my opinion.

My guess is BA Karma.

 

Just saw on untappd they worded it as one special tapping at 10. They emphasized “super secret, super special” it is so I think they’re steering us to think BA Karma unless it’s a brand new beer I suppose

 

I thought about going, but I missed getting a reservation. I'd rather not risk waiting to get in with these Hoth-like conditions.

 

Henna B3, s’mores

 

S’more Luv was the best adjunct stout I ever had. This is exciting...

 

So thinking this is what was tapped. First question that comes to mind is what are adjuncts for B3?
