Chicagoland NE IPAs (2018)

You'll find Half Acre, NW and Marz at Binny's and other locations. You will not find Corridor, Forbidden Root (The NE IPA's) or More at stores. Those you will have to go to their breweries.

 

This was hard for me as I also wanted to include Forbidden Root Ghost Tropic and Radio Swan as well as I found those beers to be incredible and top tier as well.

Ha ha. Sorry to cause all the fuss. I just added narrow gauge to my list because its not too far from Chicago and they are a small operation with national praise cranking out killer NE IPAs within an italian restaurant. Its crazy.

1. FR/FFF Stay Lit (The most orange juice-y beer I've ever had, including TH Julius)
2. FR Atomic Child (love grapes in IPAs and beer in general)
3. FR Frame and Canvas (Really thought the more bitter/West Coast hops worked very well here, reminding me of Trillium beers)
4. FR Radio Swan
5. FR Ghost Tropic

Yeah, I'm one of those people that thinks FR is far and away the best in the area with Corridor second and then Dry Hop probably third. My favorite Corridor offerings were Van Hazen and Squeezit.

I will freely admit that I didn't try any Marz or 18th Street versions of the style due to the price points and inconsistencies in previous beers, however, and I still haven't been able to get my hands on Transient.
