Damn, how did I forget Stay Lit? That would definitely be in contention for my numero uno of 2017....

Quite a few that are tough to leave out but if I HAD to pick 5:

    1.DDD Dusty
    2.Squeezeit v1
    3.Stay Lit
    4.Mike Check 1,2
    5.Radio Swan

Finally took a look at Untappd to see what stood out for me this year:

    1. Mikerphone Super Special Sauce
    2. Forbidden Root/3 Floyds Stay Lit
    3. More DDH Loose Candies
    4. Marz Crushed Velvet
    5. Lots of different options that tied at this spot, with lots of Corridor offerings being prominent

I was surprised nothing from Corridor was higher, as they're my favorite consistent producer of the style. Also, Old Nation Boss Tweed would probably have been right around #1 if we extended it out of Chicagoland. Other favorites not in Chicagoland were Heist Cirtaquench'l (I know it's not even Midwest, but I really liked this one), Old Nation M-43, Transient Mind to Devour (June batch), Narrow Gauge DDH Fallen Flag.

I prefer Corridor to FR in general (Corridor has a great texture and is less sweet, which I prefer) but I will say that FR really has nailed that full feel. Power Trip's mouthfeel was insane.

Given that Roger came from FR, hell yeah!

The ones that stick out to me are Juice is Loose, Mirrorball, Crushed Velvet, and DDH Dusty.

I only left JIL off 1) because it was right at the turn of last year, so it was arguably a 2016 beer, and 2) I'd heard newer versions have fallen off slightly.

But yeah, JIL would be up towards the top for me, because I love citra, and that and DDH Pseudosue are probably the best pure citra hazy beers I've had.

I didn't know where to post this, as I don't think there is a general Revolution thread (just the Deep Woods Series thread), but I saw that a label was approved for Double Dry Hopped Galaxy Hero. Not sure if that will be in the vein of a NEIPA, but it seems closer to it than anything else they have done. It showed as being for 12 ounce cans, similar to the rest of their Hero series. Does anyone know if this been available at the tap room and/or brewpub before?

I don't think they've done Galaxy before, but for some random one-offs at Kedzie I know I've seen DDH Citra Hero and DDH Mosaic Hero. Untappd also lists a DDH Local Hero. My notes on DDH Citra Hero says it was an improvement over regular Citra Hero in flavor, hazy in appearance, but not really a NE-Style.

    1. Stay Lit (by a large margin)
    2. Power Trip
    3. Snoochie Boochies
    4. Cosmic Juicebox
    5. DDH Loose Candies

Honerable mention for Strange Old Woods because that stuff was fire and it was their first attempt at the style.

have you had the most recent batch of the galaxy hero though? its malty as fuck. like i got the variety pack (only 3 weeks old at the time) and denali hero was somehow the shining beer in the lot. northwest hero was also malty, but hey I wasn't expecting alot anyway. Literally nothing like the galaxy hero Ive had before, so

Yeah I always thought malt really obscures what galaxy brings to the table. Anyways, I saw Hubbard's Cave is releasing V11 today/tomorrow with Amarillo/Citra/Mosaic. They've been on a roll lately so I'm excited to grab one of these

It's funny because I find Corridor's to be MUCH sweeter than FR's offering.

One specific example were each of their respective TIPAs. Toro was solid but Nightmare on Haze Street was nearly undrinkable to me due to the sweetness. And it's not just their TIPAs that I feel this way about.

Agree on this. I get more of a hop bite from FR. My girlfriend loves the sweet NEIPAs and she strongly prefers Corridor over FR.

I'm drinking my bottle of V10 now. I think it's their best IIPA yet. I get a ton of juicy grapefruit in it (I love grapefruit). Better than a couple of Treehouse beers that I've had.

Man, I don't know what I'm tasting differently but I get zero hop bite from FR stuff.
