Stopped in last night for a pour of Old Raritan and I was very impressed. the Pumpkin Habenero has real heat although someone told me it's mellowed since last week. Still, it reminds me a lot of Xocoveza. Today, I stopped for cans of Whammy. The line wasn't bad and I was able to sit for awhile with friends. The star of today was Feed Me to Gor Gor, a black IPA with pineapple purée. It's first rate! TE is adventuresome and the quality has dramatically improved this year.

anyone have issues with Vigilante Tantrum cans? I think there must have been an issue, my whole 4 pack was slightly underfilled, and dark brown and oxidized...carb was fine, smelled good, but had an oxidized flavor. Shame cause it's a good beer, and I hope people don't think that's the way it was supposed to taste or look...

Ah shit that sucks. I didn't get any cans, but underfilled cans that are not properly purged will definitely oxidize it.

just noticed that TEB added a new lager to the tap list on beer menus:

    Passaic Drift - Pale Lager - 4.7%

only the second lager they've brewed... look forward to trying it out.

since I worked from home today, I popped down after clearing the driveway... surprised they opened frankly, but was nice a relaxed... had the new lager which was real nice and refreshing as a snow blower beer... then has a shimmy ye and took a small growler of La Di Da Di to go, which tasted really nice with the coffee, chocolate and peppermint in this weather. couple of good beers dropping over the weekend too...

Yea, the peppermint in the La Di Da is a nice treat. I want to like Raritan a bit more than I do, I think it's just a touch too much heat for me. Huge fan of Gor Gor.

I agree with you. I had to give my Raritan to my wife who loves spicy because it was just too much for me. Dance with the Mantis and Gor Gor where our favorites of the day.

flavor on old Raritan is great, and I don't mind the heat initially, but 2/3s through a 8oz and it was getting to be a bit too much... if they replicate this with a milder, smoky chile it would be killer.. or just dial back the current pepper used

Funny, I was just looking at the list wondering why are there so many beers with coffee in them?! Regardless, I'll be there tomorrow for a couple of brews.

Their darker beers tend to hang around a few weeks longer than their hoppy beers. I don't know why - they're quite delicious in their own right. So I guess they get a bit of a back log. I know old Raritan has been on since early to mid December I believe.

Fair point on the coffee (though I'll never complain about that lol). I suppose I was looking at it more from a style perspective.

    This weeks lineup

    #MindfullyBrewed

Just a quick update this week as we got two fresh drops hitting the scene. First on Friday we will have our good friend "Lil' Shimmy Ye'" in the house. An oatted up 5.8% American Pale Ale, electric dirt, sticky and soft. Apricot pulp and honeydew melon nectar. An eclectic heirloom grist gives a wrinkle of crackery biscuit malt, just ‘nuff to let an ewey dewey DDH combo of Belma, Citra and Mosaic hops pop, bright and dank. On Saturday we have the second coming of the mighty "Crooked Spoke Adjacent". "Put one up for Shackle Me Not, clean logic procreation I did not invent the wheel, I was the crooked spoke adjacent". Revel in our penchant for flaked wheat and oats stacks on stacks of hops. DDH of Citra, El Dorado & Vic Secret done spun a creamy fruity daft draft rife with fleshy nectarine, pomelo, and a needling of pleasant earth. Oh and new beanies came in so get em' while they are hot. Cheers!
