I had Spoonful of Sugar from Illuminated yesterday and I thought this was pretty good. A whole bomber of it was too much for me though as it was pretty sweet in my opinion. Maybe too sweet. One pint was really good though.
Very thick, very smooth, lots of hop aroma, sweetness from the lactose. Impressed with Illuminated for this one. I have a bomber of ADHDDDHD from them also chilling in the fridge that I might crack open later today. If so, i'll report back.

So to give an update, I just drain poured my bottle of ADHD DDHD by Illuminated and I usually never drain pour as I like to punish myself for having bought a bad beer. This was real, real bad. Really dry and chalky, smells like rotting fruit, with a really gross / off finish. Bummer as I was impressed by Spoonful of Sugar.

I can see where you're coming from with ADHD, especially in comparison. Spoonful, fruit slave, astronaut oj, and zoinks have been on an upward trajectory though. Keep an eye out, hopefully, for some smaller formats soon too.

I thought the same thing. It was a snow globe from a can.

I appreciate the BA on the background computer screen, but I feel like you missed an opportunity to make a considerably weirder post.

Well, they "hazed" this up since you had it, but what a puckering, bitter finish. Not really what I'm looking for in the style.

My first can will also be my last.

Edit: This is in regards to Prairie Kraft's "Paper Wings" NE IPA.

I thought the Iowa Sue was awesome. Not as good as the other TG offerings, but this stuff popped out of the glass.

Really tried to like this one, fell short to my taste buds. I'll keep trying with their products. I hear they brew a good product.

Totally agree with anything Mikerphone has been brewing in this style all this year. Really getting close to traditional style.

I also had a nice version at TenNinty. His Malt was 18-20% Oats as well as Wheat added to the Barley, which is true to style, and helps carry the back end hops to a fruity flavor.

Haha, I actually like that look. It's raw and rustic-looking (though not really accurate for any particular style besides hefes or zwickels).

In general I actually agree (although I think Focal Banger in particular looks vile, despite ironically being one of my all-time favorite beers). I think the look is fine in general, but it grosses me out when it's a TG beer, because some of the Florida stuff tasted stale right off the bat, and it had that same grainy look to it.

Spoonful of Sugar is damn good. Maybe a smigeon too much lactose for me but this beer is really smooth, no bitterness at all. Huge aroma as well. Certainly the best lactose ipa I’ve had in Chicago. I don’t like this style, at all, but I’d happily drink this again
