    There's something to be said for people making traditional IPA that's tasty as f*ck. This won the DIPA category in the 2016 NIPAC, and deservedly so. Reminds me a bit of Hop Juju, minus the mouthfeel. Slight advantage overall to Fat Head's. Cheers.

    Ok, onto a collaboration between Aslin and my local beer store, Dominion Wine and Beer called Haka. Tasted good on the sip in store while waiting in line for the pour (along with KBS):

    A fairly typical Aslin - maybe a little less juicy, the malt and oat get a little melon and grapefruit rind before a grapefruit pith to woody bitterness gains some strength to end the taste. Actually reminds me a little of some Tired Hands I had a while ago.

    Edi: apparently it has some Nelson in play

    Founders Azacca India Pale Ale ... 32 oz. half growler filled at Whole Foods on Waugh St. in Houston

    I screwed up a month ago and drank whiskey for the first time in years. A month later and I needed to go shopping today for one more bourbon to round out a little selection to get me re-introduced to the brown drink.

    The photo is hard to read (my apologies), but there's six numbers on those price tags ... 4 big numbers and 2 small ones. First numbers on both are 3s. I know many of you have seen numbers like those before, but I'd be lying if I didn't let out a little "daaaaaaaamn" when I took a peek ... McCallan 30 in sherry casks was one of them, I think.

    I got a ways to go before I reach for the four-figure single malts. But I'd love a taste. :yum::yum::yum:

    I know what you mean.

    And how have I missed *THAT* glass?!? Holy freaking 1970s, Batman! (it's got to be 1970s/80s era, right?) And why's there a jalapeno banana in the Michelob logo? :crazy_face::joy:

    Six packs were in the bottle shops I visited in NJ last week and soooo wanted to buy; but I couldn’t drink 6 in one night before flying home (ok, I probably could, but boy would Mrs. Z have been pissed - it was all I could do to drink the 4 pk of Carton’s stout I did buy with only a raised eyebrow or two...).
