Didnt care for the quad myself. Pretty one note. Tasted as if SA did a "dark" quad or belgian ale

Got 2 4 packs in specs Arbor walk tonight, in the cold case.

I like it, although it tastes alot like Unibrue's Maudite to me.

Not a bad thing, as i like Maudite, just an observation.

It's readily available at pretty much any Specs or HEB

Specs midtown, took one of the last two 4pks off the shelf though, they may have more, but I wouldn't send someone off there without calling. It shouldn't be too hard to find right now.

surprised you didn't like it. I won't blow you away but I thought it was pretty good. You try the herkules pale yet?

I think both of these are great. I wasn't familer with the flavour of Herkules hops and I can't say they are my favorite but they are so fresh in this beer that they really stand out and I like that.

The Quad is very good as well. Reminded me a bit of a cleaner tasting Rochforte 10.. I agree the finish is very malty with a little alcohol heat. This might age rather well.

I thought Black Quad was better than Rochefort 10

I haven't had it yet and maybe you are joking but, really ? Rochefort 10 ?

I really didn't like Rochefort. But that's not saying much, I'm really not into Quads. Actually I'm not into Quads at all. I just gave Real Ale a chance and it was good.

I'm definitely more excited about this release than the previous ones.

I really enjoyed the black Quad. I was actually just thinking to myself that I need to go and buy more of it. But the imperial red ale and porter do sound good.
