I'm not assuming anything. I'm literally seeing with my eyes them not filling boxes

No dude, it hasn't been explained. I've heard wild speculation from people, such as yourself, who are making assumptions about how things work when they actually don't know. Do you work at the Bruery warehouse?

And, once again, your defense doesn't make any sense. "Your realize they would have to have employees there for this task?" Uh, yeah. That would be ideal. That's how businesses function.

If I go order a burrito then, yes, I expect that they have someone in the back ready to make my burrito. If I go pick up tile that I ordered, which I just did recently, then I expect them to have whatever staff they need to get my tile when I arrive, which they did. If I had driven there and they said to me "you realize we'd have to have someone on staff to go do that right?" the wouldn't make sense to me.

I realize their policy is 24 hours. I'm not arguing about whether it is or not. I just think it's extremely lame. And think they could do better.

I realize I'm bitching about this, and that it has been discussed here before. But it's still frustrating. Feel free to ignore me

That's what I do when people bring up online sales in the Monkish thread again and again

By the way, the last time this was brought up someone said that if the bottles weren't archive bottles, they can usually always fulfill same day. Not instantly, but within reason.

    Which is not the case

I mean, it was a long post. Let's be honest.

I would be willing to video this actually happening. Maybe I can get someone to narrate your post (maybe in a Morgan Freeman voice) and I will see if I can fill 4 boxes of beer, correctly placing the right beers in the right boxes

I'm sure the underlying reason for the 24 hour policy is sound. However, if the policy is blindly followed despite the fact they could actually fulfill a walk-in order as @Black_Rider suggests then yeah, the policy needs to be more of a guideline rather than a hard and fast policy.

As I alluded to earlier, paying for something in advance that has pick up restrictions is a non starter for me. My life is far too amazing to be bothered with that noise.

Has anyone actually been turned away for not sending the email in advance? I picked up my beer for the first time from the fulfillment center instead of having it shipped last month. I emailed on a Wednesday saying I'd be there Thursday night to pick it up. Got an email an hour later saying it was ready to go (two cases of beer from the last 6 months of ordering). Plans didn't work out, so I picked it up on Sunday. Walked in, two guys at the desk, brought it right out and checked it was all there.

I had ordered a bottle online that morning before the allocation disappeared on Monday, and I asked politely if I could pick that up as well. One of the guys checked the computer, went into the back and got it for me. So I can say I ordered online at 10am and picked it up the SAME DAY omg with no 24 hour warning. Wooohoooooo breakin the law.

Oh! And I even asked for an insulated box for my horrible Offshoot beers, which they did charge me for but had no problems going to grab one out of the back. AND gave me an ice pack to keep my beer cold. Not that it improved the taste but they tried.

There is a 24 policy, but it seems to mostly be a guideline. I assume like most things, if you ask nicely and they have time, the workers will bend the policy. I think by some posts in this thread, we can take a guess why they refuse to bend it for certain people.

The lesson in life, as always: it helps to not be a douche.

Nice try buddy, but no. I'm always polite to people, unless they are not to me.

You should take your own advice (in not being a douche)

So a couple things related to the above post. You were polite and did mention to them that if they couldn't accommodate it wouldn't be a problem. That's all good.

Another thing, it looks like you e-mailed them after 4pm on a Saturday with 5 hours notice. I'd be pretty surprised if they have warehouse staff pulling bottles at 4pm on Saturday. That's a whim they probably cannot cater to. On a weekday if you e-mailed before noon and were coming at like 6pm or later, they'd probably be able to do something because staffing is likely increased. All in all, it seems like you got them too late on the wrong day.

That's all I have to say about that.

Yikes. Lol. I don’t really think he was calling you a douche...just saying that being nice generally makes other people want to help you out.

I'd also add that this 24 hour policy is relatively new. When imperial cabinet was released (2016?), I ordered some while in the tasting room for an out of towner and then walked over and picked it up.

Anyone have this year’s Blue BBLs? Tried it for the first time a couple of days ago and rather enjoyed the balance of flavors. The abv seemed to be smoothed out by the blueberry sweetness and subtle tartness from blending in the sour. Plus, the 375ml was so much easier to finish over 2 days. Glad I got a couple bottles!

Side question: how different were Blue BBLs vs Black & Blue BBLs?

I had Blue BBLs on tap, and it was excellent. Smooth, lots of blueberry flavor, and the sour didn't overpower the chocolate richness of the stout. I opened one of the 375ml bottles last night and the only difference was I could really smell the alcohol upon pouring it. Otherwise, quite a similar experience to having it on tap. Glad I had bought 3 bottles. I'm also curious to know how different the Black & Blue BBLs is.

They’re obviously very similar, but I preferred Blue BBLs over Black & Blue BBLs. The blackberries add to the tartness, whereas the blueberries alone sorta keep that in check. Both are good, but I prefer blue to black & blue if I could only choose one

Very interesting! Tried Black & Blue on tap at an SF Beer Week event and as a non-sour person was pleasantly surprised how mellow it was. More importantly, my wife loved it, so now I'm interested to see if the Blue 375's appear again.

It's waaaaay to early in 2018 to be bitching this much and having this much entitlement about beer pickups. You already admitted that the individual was apologetic and professional in their reply so all you're doing is making yourself look like a child throwing a tantrum. Here's a brilliant suggestion for you: instead of using the minimum as a guideline and hoping they aren't super slammed by everybody trying to pick up or ship all their beer from 2017 you let them know 48-72 hours in advance because they'd probably be more accommodating and you'd 'secure your place in the virtual line.' 24 hours may work out when it's a slow part of the year but any time you have a rush like a sale, the holidays, BT release, influx of new members picking up with welcome packages(which also take up space), anniversary party or any other event that gets a big turnout of society members expect them to not be able to deliver in that 24 hour time period. I've had to wait weeks to get stuff shipped to my trustee and it's fine because at the end of the day it's just beer and there are other people that also got their orders in ahead of me that should be served first although I'm an HS member.

At the end of the day it's your time and money. If you don't like it that much nobody is forcing you to renew or buy more beer throughout the year.
