Last week i traded a prop '16 for 12 tree house beers (a mixture of C44, Julius, Alter Ego, Haze, Bright). Yesterday I picked up Over Haze and Gummy Apocalypse. Anyways, those 2 beers were better than any of the 2 week old Tree House i drank last week. Yeah im done trading for Tree House now.

That’s awesome to hear, even though selfishly I’d still want to try for myself.

I’ve liked what Noon Whistle has put out recently I’m not sure they have even put out their best beer yet either.

Over Haze was on point and I really enjoyed it but I prefer Noon Whistles Gummypocalypse to it but not by much.

Overhaze was better than Julius & Haze?

The other Tree House you got are trash, but I'm surprised you liked Overhaze better than those two.

As a guy who is not a big Mosaic fan, I can confidently say that Mosaic Monsoon is fucking awesome and you should all get a crowler.

Strongly agree on all points even though I’m not a mosaic fan boy myself.

have you ever had side car
imagine a low bitterness, low malt presence side car
faint london ale yeast taste with a twinge of what I find in the fake orange extract beers

Speaking of aged Treehouse beers, I was able to buy a Treehouse Bright from a store on Long Island this weekend. It was 3 months old and still incredible. Better than super fresh Three's SPY and some all the Sand City beers.

I agree. I recently had the Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada takes on a NEIPA. Just about any local Chicagoland NEIPA trounces those. I would like to try the SN one when it's fresh to give them a second chance, tho. But something tells me that I'd still be dissapointed... If I were in a position where I had a NEIPA craving and the local Jewels is "right there" but my craft beer bottle shop (with cans of Stratus, Gummy beers, Saint Errant, etc NEIPAs) was a bit further, I'd go a bit further now that I've tasted the Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada ones, IMO. Is it bad that I only posted this just so I can use the word "trounces"? LOL

That's what I thought also. Unauthorized sale by the owner likely.

It is not uncommon to see non distro'd beers like that for sale in New York

Regarding Hazy Little Thing, which I presume is the SN beer being referenced here, nowhere does SN claim it being a NEIPA. It's not their take on one. So it's a bit unfair to review the beer as one imo.

I thought it was pretty clear that Hazy Little Thing was their contribution to the NE style haze craze - both from the posts on here from SN and their advertising:

Also, I completely disagree with the remarks that Hazy Little Thing wasn't a NE style IPA - to me it hit all the main markers of the nebulous style knows as the NE style IPA - mouthfeel, juicy aroma, fruit forward flavor, low bitterness, etc. (Not saying it was as good as some of the best NE Style IPAs out there - but it was a good example of the style.) Between that and Sam Adams, there are two solid inexpensive mass produced NE styled IPAs out there. I didn't care for the hazy voodoo ranger and didn't think it did a good job hitting the hallmarks of the style.

Also, maybe this belongs in the controversial beer opinion thread, but I'd take Hazy Little Thing over any of the Gummy beers from Noon Whistle and depending on the batch, over anything from Hailstorm. :astonished:

I don't know the first thing about untappd, so excuse my ignorance, but is the style on there determined by whoever adds the beer (such as here on BA)? Or does the brewer have a say in the style categorization?
