    Happy hump day advocates!

    What a change in the weather here today - from record setting temps Tuesday to gloomy and rainy and much cooler....ah well.....4 weeks until spring!

    Found this ceramic stein Tuesday on a thrift visit...Burkhardts was a local Akron brewing icon back in the day (and Thirsty Dog here is now situated in part of their massive brewery complex close to downtown) and then a second or third generation guy in the family opened a Brewpub in the Akron area in the 90's - during the first craft boom, but alas, they, like many others, did not survive!

    Tasty brown ale as well!

    Ever since that night in the woods when I was a small child, I could always sense it when aliens we're coming back. Apparently it will be Friday. When I visit them at church, this beer will be with me for the ceremony. And there will be love.

    Birthday nod to the King of Norway, Harald V, 81 today...

    Lotta respect for all the Scandinavian monarchs - long may they rule (Harald's been king since 1991, Sweden's Carl Gustaf has been king since 1973, and Denmark's Margrethe has been queen since 1972)... All three countries rate in the top ten on the World Happiness Report, with Norway and Denmark taking the top 2 spots, and Sweden coming in at 10 (two more Nordic countries, Iceland and Finland, come in at 3 and 5, respectively). They must be doing something right...

    They don't exactly send their leader for me. I get the impression that those who are sent to handle me are typically doing so as a form of punishment. But, I will try to put a good word in for you.

    I feel like Otter Creek has improved in the past few years. Haven't had that one, though. What are your thoughts?

    Tupp's For Ella IIPA

    Fairly light in color and not much nose on it. Taste and mouthfeel are pretty decent. Not the best example of a IIPA but overall very drinkable for sure.
    rating 3.93
