New Belgium Hazy beer is decent but it is basically a hopped up Hefeweizen. Getting a lot of hefe.

Had Foiken Haze at the new Eris Brewing/Cider place in Irving Park last night

Was damn good, impressively almost on par with the DDH Fort Point I had earlier in day

Mini vacation weekend in Chicago and I drank so much hazy beer. Started with a bottle of Hopsmack by Toppling Goliath at our hotel room, then dinner at Forbidden Root where we tried Snoochie Boochies and the TDH (TIPA?) Toro. Both very delicious, SB was like a bowl of murky orange ganja and Toro was very juicy and smooth for 9.3%.

Today lunch was at Corridor where we tried Mosaic Monsoon and Mystic Fog and brought home crowlers of each. Monsoon has that overripe Mosaic funk to it so I liked it a liitle better than MF. And I just now cracked open a can of Snoochie.

The one beer I still cant stop thinking about is Hopsmack but I think the standout was Snoochie fresh on draft.

Feeling very spoiled realizing how much great beer Chicagoans can pick from right now.

Nice dude. I know I’m a homer but I’ll take all those Chicago beers mentioned over hop smack and I had that last night and enjoyed it greatly.

I’ll echo this somewhat. I had a crowler of Highway to Haze last night and followed it up with Hopsmack. The Corridor beer was clearly better. That is obviously just my opinion, but I found it interesting in the preference between them when drinking them back to back.

I agree, Corridor is better beer. It must be whatever hop combo TG uses on this this particular beer that is standing out. Corridor is making most of my most favorite beers in the last year. The Juice Beyond is my current high bar.

Really loved Snoochie too. So dank and juicy. Very different than what everyone else is doing.

Can anybody tell me what the hop bill is on either Hopsmack or Snoochie btw? I c

Marz Citra Citra Citra is as good as anything in this city. They are officially top tier with Corridor and FR in my eyes.

I'm still partial to the top tier Corridor offerings, but this stuff is killer. I'm hunting for another four pack as we speak.

I’ve had 2 cans of this now, and it is really tasty. Perhaps not the really top tier, as it doesn’t really have a big hop presence that stands out, but it’s really smooth and has a nice mouthfeel. If they could do this consistently, I’d recommend this a lot.

If you guys and gals can see fit to break away from the chains of the NE IPA BS then check this out starting tomorrow at both Pollyanna locations and The Beer Cellar. True to form West Coaster in every sense, simply delicious!!

Wrong thread? I was a fan of Lexical Gap when I first had it some time ago. Unfortunately it seems to just sit & sit at Binny's so hard to find fresh. I might have to swing by to try this. So how is it?

Ain't no West Coast thread to go to so what's a fella to do to spread news of something great!

Piney and resinous as a West Coast should be but stacked full of Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra enough to please you NE IPA bastards!! Super smooth.

I can't lie, I love the benefits the Pollyanna Mug Club gives me. Gave an excuse to go drink another glass of BA Fun Size.
