And $20/4pk was like an extra kick to the gut when I don't even want to drink the rest.

It was awesome to stroll into Binny's (Schaumburg) and pick up Toro and Snoochies today.

Galaxy bowl still available at bloomingdale Binnys as of 10 minutes ago.

I wasn’t able to get snoochies but landed a toro at the Algonquin Binnys.

Wish i would've seen this yesterday, sold out now. Anyone know of other places around that still have them?

If you find yourself in wicker park, Liquor park usually has it a bit longer than other folks.

Already said it in the FR thread, but this batch of Ghost Tropic is fantastic

Any idea what hops are in the batch of ChiPa?

Since it's DDH I'm going to throw it in here. Anyone try the DDH Galaxy Hero?

I am having Snoochie and Galaxy Bot back to back. Snoochie just stands head and shoulders above GB imho.

For those with a found memory of the Fall 2016 version, how does this batch compare?

Not how I remember the 16 batch but it’s probably the best version since then.

Did the same thing last night. Snoochie followed up by Galaxy Bowl. Snoochie is the better beer in my opinion.

This is the best batch of Galaxy Bowl I've had. Never had B1 so can't compare it to that.

Anyone expecting DDH Galaxy Hero to be in any way similar to the NEIPAs here is going to be severely dissapointed. The way some of these beers have been marketed is causing a lot of confusion I think. It should be no surprise that you can DDH an IPA that is very different than the juicy, creamy, NE types.

That said, DDH Galaxy Hero is clear af (which I don’t mind at all), big tropical galaxy presence (which I love), bitterness in line with the rest of the Hero series. Even though the ABV isn’t too far off from the regular version, I found the alcohol heat to be a little too much for this one. Seemed a little too malty, and imbalanced somehow. Overall a disappointment for me, as Galaxy Hero has long been a big favorite. We’ll see if it grows on me over the next week or two, but otherwise I’ll probably pass in favor of regular in the future.

Thanks for this. I was a bit skeptical about something from Rev with the DDH moniker. When I saw pics of it earlier this week I was shocked at how clear it was. I love the original GH, but will stick with more true NE styles if that's what I want. Damn it.

I agree. Way too much caramel malt flavor and I could hardly distinguish the Galaxy. I didn't expect hazy or anything but I did expect a better more flavorful beer than GalHero, especially for the price.

I don’t feel like the Hero/Rev IPA’s showcase specific hops well enough. Style preferences aside, the NE style really showed how to do that and balanced/west coast beers should emulate that one part

Except it does not belong here because it's nowhere near a New England IPA (not that it needs to be, though). No offense meant, but this isn't the place for discussion of that beer and it serves to confuse people that may not know it isn't a New England IPA.

This is a really key point that I think a lot of folks are not understanding. DDH does not, on its own, imply New England-style. You can definitely have one without the other, and there should be no assumptions being made by consumers lest they enjoy disappointment. DDH has become a marketing tool, and many beers were DDH before it was something that got put on cans and press releases. Be informed consumers, and don't take any unwarranted mental leaps.

Hey all, just want to return here from my usual home in the Mid-Atlantic forums to thank y'all for the excellent advice on my trip through Chicago this past week! I was able to visit Corridor, Forbidden Root (the anniversary party), and Bangers & Lace... Even found a few Toppling Goliath bombers at Liquor Park thanks to @KidGalaga! Highlights of the trip were definitely the Corridor NEIPAs (SqueezeIt is absolutely fantastic, certainly on par with the stuff coming out of my local (Other Half)), that one ridiculous Forbidden Root Ghost Tropic variant (conditioned on tangerine zest, I believe?) they were serving on the tour, and the Lil Beaver coconut/chocolate stout at the Forbidden anniversary party. But it was great to get a taste of your local scene! Feel free to reach out for tips/advice if you find yourselves in NYC anytime soon!

Marz Citra! Citra! Citra! has not aged well. Fresh this was one of my favorite local neipas ever. With about two weeks plus on it has turned very sweet and malty.

Did anybody else find that this latest batch of Galaxy Bowl fell off REALLY fast? I opened one on Wednesday night, and it was excellent. I had another one on Sunday, and it wasn't even close to being as hazy, the mouth feel felt a lot more carbonated, and the galaxy hop profile was way more in my face and almost unpleasant.

I can't believe the cans I bought fell off that fast in less than a week.
