Had four cans left of Konkey 4Up. Opened one on Saturday and it was super dark and brown, tasted like complete shit so I poured it out. Opened up a second which was noticeably brighter and closer to the original yellowish color but it tasted super flat and had little flavor. Opened up the next two and it was the exact same result (one that looked semi normal but tasted flat and one that was dark brown). I tried drinking one of the two that looked drinkable but I got about halfway into it and called it quits because it wasn't settling right with my stomach (probably paranoia).

Long story short I dumped my last 64 oz of KD down the drain. Super bummed and while it was only $20, I still drove round trip from Cleveland and stood in the cold for two hours waiting in line to buy it which should count for something. I filled out the QC form online and got an email back within minutes asking for a photo of my beer. I snapped one and sent it back to them and haven't gotten a single response back since (so two days). Take that for what its worth...

line at hoof yesterday was awesome. Easy to get beer, easy to get refills on drinks, and both blabe and WWS were drinking great on draft. WWS has a darker color so don't confuse the blueberry with oxidation...

line and crowd was small, and was able to get drafts multiple times with no wait.

thought Blabe was awesome. Both in Columbus and Marengo. Was gonna skip cans because was underwhelmed last time, but after drinking it I bought some.

I liked the new clip, not sure why they totally changed it. had a can last night and it didn't have any head. still good.

The triple IPA stacking papers was really good. milkiest beer they've done. The sour IPA at the pub was ridiculous but didn't realize until after getting 3 pints it was $10.

Sad I missed the anniversary. Looks like I need to trade for a can of Stacking papers

@Josbor11 try shooting them another email. Ryan replied and refunded me in literally five minutes. It's quite possible that you got lost in the workflow.

Stacking Papers is still super green. I would wait a week if you have cans.

New Treats Clipboard is certainly lacking in the haze game, so it's a bit odd. With the clarity and no other information, I would expect it to be a west-coast IPA, tbh, but the bitterness isn't there. It leaves me confused. If this reads strangely, note that I like a good west-coast IPA.

The release was actually really well-run for HH standards. No crazy crowds, but a decent trickle of people. I think it was nice that they pushed back the draft to 7pm to spread people out a bit. Those who wanted cans came early and bolted. Those who wanted the whole experience came later.

    A few miscellaneous updates:
    • Looks like SOE and Musk are next on the docket. I think I will skip and see if they're available at the following release.
    • Tons of barrels are now located at the brewpub. I think they loaded them up this month with something to age, according to IG.
    • There is some construction occurring at Marengo. Cinder blocks and digging underground... not sure what's to come, but that indicates they're at least thinking of making changes to the current property.

Trust me I did...twice. Nothing back. Looking less and less likely that I give any money to Hoof going forward.

Just reporting back, they did eventually respond and issue a refund. Sounds like they are pretty backed up on requests.

Hmmm. Makes me wonder what happened and how they'll prevent it in the future... sigh.

Sounded like it was a new/change in the canning line and they knew how to remedy it. Haven't seen oxidization issues with any other canning runs, other than that week, so I'm inclined to believe them for now.

The Musk/Eleven release was smooth and I understand it's not their sexiest offerings. There was extra Blabe and Slippery on hand too. Arrived at 11:45AM and beer purchased by 12:15PM. I've never gone that early and it was smooth sailing.

Perhaps I missed it in this thread and perhaps I should've asked (d'oh), what are they building? Also, I took the quick left route off I-71 (coming from Columbus) through the gravel for once, it was a lot quicker. Probably not the best surface for my family truckster though.

IMO it's always really good. Easily my favorite from their standard lineup (RIP, I'll Have What She's Having)

it was always my favorite (partly the name and can art work, the best besides Konkey)... but last batch was different...could not make it Sunday so I'm glad they have cans left.

and agree, I'll Have What She's Having is/was awesome.

So are cans only available through the ticketed offerings on the website on those particular dates? Nothing around stores in town? Thinking about making the drive out there and curious how they set things up

The brewpub has cans but not from past morengo releases, their own. Not sure what they have right now but you can call.

should be worth noting you can sometimes find cans around town at places like Savor Growl, etc. but the price is usually ~$5 /can for their 'meh' beers. Usually thru tickets only or getting lucky stopping into the BP is the only sure-fire way to get some GOOD Hoof. I believe they will distro a keg or two around Ohio. but not often.
