I still have a few cans left too but IMHO Galaxy Bowl is drinking awesome right now.

It IS fresh. Noon Whistle will now be doing quarterly distro on the Gummy series. Meaning they will make and distro Vortex until they switch to a different beer later in the year.

It's not the same batch. It even has slightly different can art. I do wish it had brewed on dates on the can.

Anyone have 3Floyds North Korean Cheerteam IPA? The appearance seems hazy and the taste profile juicy (according to both description and reviews). Might be 'in the spirit' of NE style IPAs, and just wondering if someone can provide first hand/palate thoughts.

Anyone else have a take on new batch of this, especially in comparison to other local offerings?

And add me to group that thought the recent gummy vortex was awesome. Enjoyed it more than several others have had recently (ghost tropic, bendy straw, etc.). Not knocking those at all but was really impressed with GV.

Stopped at Corridor this evening and grabbed a Crowler of Neon candy. Melon, mango and a little White grape on the Finish. Amazing beer and can't wait to have more of them tomorrow at Dryhop.

    Cheers

Sweet, I'll probably swing by there after I get the kids to bed tonight.

Where'd you learn about this release and, while we're at it, do you know if Marz fills growlers? I forgot to ask last time I was there.

Instragram. Apparently they commented and said there would be the usual distro.

A random note on extreme freshness & "New England IPA's"...

3 times recently I've had a beer extremely fresh and was a bit put off. Then, I revisited with a week or two on it & enjoyed it more.

The examples are Citra! Citra! Citra! (Marz), Ghost Tropic (Forbidden Root) and Galaxy Bowl (Hop Butcher).

I might start giving this style a week before cracking in general; perhaps this talk of a super fresh beer being "green" is true.

I’m struggling to think of a NE IPA that didn’t improve after a few weeks in the fridge.

In terms of cans that have held up the longest for me, it’s been FR by a decent margin, then Marz, Hop Butcher, noon whistle and 18th street

Ghost Tropic had the most drastic swing.

The recent Toro cans went from pretty good to complete messes (to my tastes) in a short amount of time

But I wonder if that had more to do with the cans than the beer itself.

On the other hand, my Toro's were just bad.

I truly think it was a canning issue, especially since the Ghost Tropic got better over time & the Snoochie Boochies were delicious from the jump & never fell off.

A whole lot get better with a week or so, but I've definitely had some that were only able to hold themselves together for like three days.

Yeah that could be. Mine seemed undercarbed (and to the touch of the can not unlike how More’s were in December)
