oh I know, it's still a solid deal, but looking at it from the other direction, a 64oz growler is $15, but 2x 32oz is $20, so a 33% markup to fill 2 vessels. I wouldn't expect same pricing per volume, as there is more labor and beer loss involved in filling 2 smaller growlers, just wish it was a slightly less of a premium. I think part of the reason is that TEB doesn't price each beer differently despite a difference in cost of producing it... so a barrel aged stout or heavily dry hopped DIPA sells for the same as Chuck's Garage, and this pricing structure helps equalize that without getting too complicated for them to manage...

that's some what normal though -- where the smaller versions are always more expensive (per ounce) than the larger versions, 4 - 4oz tasters will be much more than 1 pint, etc.. This is also why the limit the growler size of some of their more robust beers to 32oz instead of 64oz.

i do prefer their streamlined pricing forsure though. Unfortunately - just like Kane had to adjust HH growler fill pricing, eventually I can see them moving to either different prices per beer, or like $12 for 32 or $17-18 for 64oz. Especially as hop prices (specifically galaxy) keep rising. Though they've done a great job of utilizing cheaper/less common hops

I had it on Sunday. I'm not generally a big fan of sours and boy, at first sip was it sour. But then there was a wonderful taste of pineapple at the end. I liked it!

no doubt its a bit tart, but as you drink it and it warms it subsides I think, and the other layers and flavors come out.. It's kind a wine drinkers beer as well - definitely has some vinous attributes.

Glad to hear this was good. I passed on the bottle because I'm not a big fan of sours, but glad to hear it was a good one.

Did anyone try Mantis Toboggan last week? Looks good, but I didn’t get over to try.

If I recall correctly, crooked spoke was one of the labels they had gotten approval for. So it's possible, and I'd definitely would like up for that and shimmy since I've skipped the last two releases.

Mantis Toboggan is nice. It’s has that maltiness that I like in a brown. The rye is more prominent in the nose, but it has a nice subtlety in the flavor. There is also a real nice nutty flavor as well.

Split Megehertz is a fantasy NEIPA. Probably my second favorite NEIPA of theirs, after Tuxedo Bulldozer

Split was absolutely fantastic last week. It’s right up there with Tuxedo Bulldozer, for me.

Strong disagreement on that one. Tuxedo was great, Split had a horrendous aftertaste and the mouthfeel was just too much. Mac Mittens was a lot better.

Agree to disagree. I actually though Mac Mittens was worse; the flavors didn't mesh well for me. To each his own.

Edit: flavor and mouthfeel didn’t mesh for me.
