    Checking out Marauder, BBA Scotch ale from Great South Bay...

    Features Galena hops, Maris Otter and roasted barley malts; brewed in 2017, bottled in 2018, part of their Born from Wood reserve series; 10% abv...

    Not bad at all - solid take on the style - malts are fairly forward, with some dark brown bread and fruit cake elements; bourbon is lightly airy on the palate with pronounced barrel woods lending a nice drying quality to the beer; mild molasses-like sweetness over impressions of booze-soaked fruits with some darker citrus tang... Smooth and mild; little bit of resinous shellac lingers behind but airs out nicely... As I've been drinking it I've been regarding it as quite a nice entry to the style...

    Will BP never run out of gimmicks? At least this one doesn't rely on adjuncts, instead going with a different yeast strain to help shape the flavor profile.

    16 oz canned on 3.8.18, opened 4.7.18

    Printed on the bottom, “ open other end”

    Pours a deep clear copper, some carbonation, bubbly off white pencil thin foam layer, some lacings

    Fragrant piney aroma on the pour, whiff of malts, whiff of citrus, tangerine

    Taste is piney hops, bit of spiciness,

    Hop nibble, lingers nicely, not a sharp hop bite

    Local brewer

    Good beer

    Took my wife to the Manchester airport so she could fly to Detroit for her niece's bridal shower. We stopped at Backyard Brewery and Kitchen for lunch. Great place!
    My wife had Lazy Daze IPA and I had Kafija Alus Baltic Coffee Porter.

    Happy Beer Day! Its been awhile since Ive had A Year with the Dr which is a great IPA. This new one 3 Years With Dr Nandu DIPA, single hopped with Mosaic is heaven. They toned down the caramel malts and there is a laser focus on the Mosaic. Money.[​IMG]
