Carton Brewing (March/April 2018)

I love Holl on Steal this Beer. A drunk Augie and semi sober Holl make for a Great Podcast. Most importantly, Steal This Beer has introduced the idea of a "side beer" into my life. Now I am no longed double-fisting. I am enjoying a side beer which helps re-center my palate. This Town is the best side beer going.

 

So I've been relying on my wife to get beer for me since I broke my leg. She grabbed me a 4 pack of IDIPA at a local store that the canning date was from January and it tastes fantastic. I know this beer was brewed at Two Roads but I just want to give props to Augie and the team for making stellar beer that you can trust to last. Thanks @augiecarton

 

They have great chemistry together, that's for damned sure. Each one is a humorous reality check for the other.

 

aww thanks, glad it worked for you... no funnier conversation i have these days than explaining "fridge beers" to hazebois, its nice when one just finds its way to a beer guy watching TV or whatever . some day i may have to over-late-hop that series to put some chill on our local "inside 2 weeks or die" set

 

Looks like a Magnify Carton collab is on the way. Interested to see how this turns out.

So Im guessing Eric was OK with the Steal This Beer episode.

 

Well that IG post reads like 'we spent time with Carton talking about how great our beers are that Augie said on STB are what every brewery is trying to do and are boring so we decided to do a beer with Carton that is exactly like that kind of beer that they are known for not doing'

 

Surprised by the collab after that episode myself. Will be checking it out though

 

I trust that this collab will be good because Carton. I lost all faith in Magnify since they've become an NEIPA DDH throat burn hype machine. I still enjoy vine shine every now and then and I enjoy every non ipa they make.

 

Mello was pretty cool. Teetering on gross, yet somehow not.

I guess you’re referring to the oats and lactose, because when I hear “a bunch of interesting adjuncts” it certainly does make me think of Carton.

 

I think it could be interesting.. Augie has a great palate and a way with unique beer/flavor combinations, which will be interesting to see meshed with Magnify's style.

 

The throat burn was real, but it's also true that it is not a problem anymore. You can like or dislike Magnify's beer but IMO the burn is an issue of the past.

 

This looks pretty darn good
