Wasn't their first NE style/Strange Old Woods actually received very well? Then it seems every NE attempt after that has been meh or down right bad. Sad!

Yeah I remember people being very surprised at the quality of that one. And then apparently nothing else

It's a good way for Prairie to sell more Bomb and a fun taste test for consumers. Their pricing model has always been high so no shock there.

It doesn't excite me since i'm deep in this craft game, but a few years ago I would have been all over this.

agreed. chili stouts were a big step for me into craft beer and at the time I was really excited about being able to try this specific beer. I'll still buy Christmas bomb once a year but when you remove the bells and whistles of bomb it really just becomes paying $10 for a 12oz bottle. Not my jam.

Well, I didn't like Boat Socks much at all so so I assume I would prefer this batch of Stratus. I've had 2 cans of BS so far - both were overfilled and undercarbed. It's also quite a bit maltier than I prefer.

Yea, it was. Then they lost pretty much everyone in the brewhouse.

Just had the latest batch of Praire Maddness and it continues to be one of the most underrated beers out of Chicago. Also had the Cumulus from 4/6 i think? and it was one of the best batches of that too. Hailstorm really dialing it in

More details? Is the haze craze so great that a moderately successful attempt got the entire team poached or did people have a falling out?

I agree on Prairie Madness. Had my first can in a while at Sox opening day (was very fresh < 2 weeks) and really hit the spot. There is definitely something to be said about a well executed traditional IPA!

Yeah, especially when you're constantly overloading your palate with hazy hop bombs. I find myself craving more classic IPAs and lagers quite a bit nowadays.

While I really enjoyed the earlier batches of Short Fuse Loosey Juicy (around Nov-Jan), that beer has not been the same the last few months. It's rather terrible and I'm done buying it.

Word is that most brewers prefer a well executed Pilsner for daily drinking. Palate fatigue (haze?) just means it’s all going according to their plan.

Yeah, I don't doubt it. There are days that I'm not in the mood for hazy stuff, but it's hard to get angry drinking the classics.

I would assume so, I think it's just barrel aged stuff they keep at the dojo.

This is like seeing a picture of an ex on social media and being like "Damn, she didn't look that good before" and then calling her up.... Please take me back Pipeworks....

The Yuice is legit. Peach, mango & a little fruit punch.

Those who like the New England style to have a bitter edge may not love this, but juice heads will swoon.

lead brewer left to go back home to the east coast, not sure the rest of the story. They hired a guy from Three Floyds. Three Floyds doesn't exactly get rave reviews on their hazy beers. Maybe just be a coincidence. Don't have a whole lot of detail other than i know they've retooled a lot lately
