Daily lager review. Never even heard of this brewery, friend gave me it today. Pretty good. Decent head retention, minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit; and light herbal, grassy, peppery hops. A bit fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy malts and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. A bit thin, but not watery. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Very flavorful/refreshing, 4.5%. Nicely clean lagering, minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Clean Pils/Munich/Vienna malts and mild earthy hop presence/balance. Was expecting more for an all malt lager, but it's enjoyable. More pale lager than German Pilsner as labeled. 3.5


8 day old canning. Insane stuff! Amazing lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, orange juice, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced biscuit dough, light honey/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready malt mouthfeel; light sticky hops and slight resins/rinds. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, never astringent. Amazingly smooth, minimal warming 6.8%. Insanely juicy and fairly dank hop complexity; balanced bready malt/oat backbone, with mild lingering sweetness. Another killer NEIPA, I still think Green was the best. 4.4

I'm about an hour and a half south of you here, Dave, and while we haven't had snow this week, it's been consistently cloudy, in the low '40's, and intermittently rainy. It's really depressing, especially following the teaser we had last Friday and Saturday.

Met @SomethingClever at our buddy’s beer store this afternoon. Unfortunately he was still recovering from surgery so we had a couple parking lot beers that has kind of become our trademark. Both were pretty solid. This one I believe he got from @JayWhitson

NOW, I am enjoying what he says is a magical batch of Creeper. I will agree. It is pretty stellar. This is the beer that won GABF gold the year before Fat Heads took it back to back.

Anyway, I forgot how much I do enjoy Brother Thelonious. As such, finishing off the 4 pack.


And God help me, listening to some Steve Baczkowski as well. Which can be a bit out there in the avant garde, even for me. Still, big Belgian style beers and odd Thelonious albums help.

Cellarmaker Hop Slangin’ IPA. This is a Nelson Rye IPA that doesn’t quite rise to the heights of OG Alpine Nelson, but what could? Still a very solid brew.

 

That was recorded in my home town, and one of my favorite live albums.
