Sometimes mushroom in beer can present as a sweet maple like note. It doesn't really taste like mushroom in my experience.

I'd argue it was a bit of a failure if they do brew it with mushrooms and one could not get any of the flavor. Seems somewhat pointless to me then (unless it was to impact mouthfeel or some other characteristic perhaps). But I think it's a moot point regarding this beer as you mention the mushroom reference is in regard to coinciding with morel season.

Here is an old twitter from Mike on it. TG also mentioned it was Galaxy & Nelson at the time. Not sure if it is still the case today.

That would make a lot more sense as to why I couldn’t detect any mushrooms (I love mushrooms), but I could swear I read somewhere that it does contain some mushrooms. Ohh well, I’ll try and find it or maybe I just misremembered.

Yes Scorpius has no mushrooms in it. It is how ever one of the best TG DIPA's. Hopefully this batch will be watched over by Mike like the last few. Not sure how to feel about this beer moving to the new system, here's hoping it doesn't change.

From my memory its, Amarillo, Nelson, Galaxy

Looks like there's some 4/14?/18 Galaxy Sue bombers around. Picked one up at Garfields in Wicker a minute ago.

You could be right. I used the question mark as the date on my bottle is smudged.

Maybe they need to order less stuff. I'm not taking the hit on old pale ales.

Visiting family in the QC tonight. Made a quick stop on the way into town. Grabbed some Galaxy Sue bottled 4/14/18 best I can tell. Not to mention it was $7.99 :astonished:

I'm about to send TG a nastygram as I bought a bottle of Galaxy Sue with a clearly printed date on it (4/11/18). About a half inch higher and it would have been right on the curve and totally illegible.

This fresh batch of Galaxy Dry Hopped Psuedo Sue is hazy, soft, creamy, fruity and not bitter...they'll never say it, but it's a straight up New England IPA (it's way too hoppy to be a "pale ale").

It's a damn good one, too.

I agree, I had one yesterday and it was phenomenal. Tons of galaxy aroma, super creamy/pillowy body, fruity taste, really nice.

A lot of their beers qualify although I thought The Galaxy sue I had last night had a good amount of hop bitterness.

It is one of my favorites.

Agrees. I just polished off my 2nd bomber from I thin 4/14 or 4/11. Excellent. I just rated it a 4.67 on BA.
