Bruery 2018 RS/HS Allocations

Drinking the rye bois from the bruery ba initial package and its fantastic, a bit of oxidation, but very enjoyable.

 

Raspberry Kisses is really fantastic, I'm very hopeful for the strawberry and cream, and orange and cream, wheatwines that I hope will be similarly brewed.

 

I was getting some slight oxidation. Given that and that the beer is 5 years old, I feel like falling off is probably the only direction this beer can take at this point.

 

I'm flying in on Thursday.

 

Should be perfect weather Saturday, looking forward to it.

 

Two years ago I remember it being like 95, I'll take low 80s.

 

Last year it was a little on the cold side, looking forward to it being warmer this year.

Archiversary sale begins today.

 

Yep, waiting for some Fruet and hopefully some 100% coton/cuir.

 

Are more beers coming? Because 2 out of the 3 beers being from 2018 doesn't really make me think "archive sale"...

 

Should be coming everyday if I remember correctly from last year.

 

I thought they tended to do one or two gigantic releases for Archiversary... maybe today is just limbering up so we don't pull a wallet muscle...

 

In the past they have done 2 big sales a week apart, last year they did a new sale each day for 2 weeks I believe. There will definitely be more.

 

Looking to see if Raspberry Kisses was similar tasting to 2016 Hoarders Cuvee? That was my all time favorite and hoping that I could get my fix again....

No - Raspberry Kisses is on a wheatwine base (basically White Chocolate Chunk + raspberries, I think?), very different feel from the 16 HC which I think was anniversary + Black Tuesday base?

 

Raspberry Kisses doesn't have chocolate, which makes for a big flavor departure from the WC variants. It's got big bold fresh raspberry flavor that's fantastic, and the nice creamy mouthfeel that WC Chunk had (I assume from the macadamia).

I think if you loved the raspberry in 16 HC you will also love Raspberry Kisses. I loved both. I'd say in 16 HC the raspberry was the foremost of a variety of flavors, whereas with RK the raspberry is the star.

 

Rejected on additional box for Small Batch Hoarder Series. All good. Glad to see there was a lot of interest in it. Anyone get a second box?
