Cash only works really well for releases.
Mikerphone had plenty of problems with their card system and did cash only for Vanillanoize which was super quick

Great release, despite my doubts. I’m hoping to be back on Sunday.

The bummer was the lack of glasses. I don’t need one, of course, but would have bought one.

Some Jack in a STL Cardinals hat definitely cut in line in front of me as we were walking to pick up our bottles. He obviously wanted 744 instead of 745.

Henna glasses only going for $150, seems like a fair valuation.

And I disagree that a lottery is more fair. If you think a lottery would stop mules, you are ridiculously mistaken. It would increase mules tenfold. Do you know how many friends, parents, grandparents, etc. would sign up for a lottery if they knew they didn't have to wait in line and had a week long window to go pick up the bottle?

A lottery adds ZERO marketing value to the brand. Today resulted in 1,000 people having an incredibly positive experience with More Brewing Company. I highly, highly doubt the negative impact on a few people like you will outweigh that.

What's the line looking like to get a pour? If it's even still on.

    "dedicated" :grin:

Or perhaps people who would love to obtain a bottle or pour have work, family obligations, etc.

Y'know, those minor items....but you're right...not dedicated putting beer/untapped above those items.

I'm really interested to see how tomorrow goes with Dark Lord. I know from talking with guys around me that they are skipping tomorrow because of DLD. But I assume that for every person there today that won't be there tomorrow because of DLD there will be 1-2 people there because it's a Saturday.

Or, the February release model could be used where 1,000 people did not wait in line for hours, leisurely picked up their bottle and were able to stay for lunch/dinner/experience other beer offerings (I did not "win" a bottle, FYI)

That method may have a smidgen of marketing value, Though, I'm an accountant so I'm unfamiliar with the marketing industry.

And, of course, that method doesn't give "cred" for being very serious or hardcore about beer to lord over people.

I don't really understand how people can say a line is "unfair". It's dumb, and I want the online ticket sales back, but it's hardly an unfair system.

yea I agree with this. Its certainly not unfair but it is dumb and there are better ways. its all about that cost benefit analysis. I will never be able to justify a day off work for a $300 beer. It just much easier to buy one.

That would increase total sales but I wouldn't say it's a better marketing tool. People go grab a bite and gets cans (even limited ones) all the time, so they already have that and no one I know has ever talked up those experiences.

It depends what you're looking to get out of a release.

Should they have done a lottery for the Frooted cans I couldn't get to that release but certainly don't think a lottery was the answer.

Again, you THINK there are better ways. That doesn't make it true.

Yeah, and if I had a meeting or other obligations during the 30 seconds tickets were available for Henna B3, I would have been SOL.
