Did anyone else see the ass-hat who was trying to sell his bottle for $200?

ha, what a dumbass. he could've sold it for $300

Not in line he couldn't. Everyone was already guaranteed a bottle for $25. So asking anyone to spend an additional $200 was down right idiotic. He walked up & down the line saying, "$200".

    What a jamoke.

Was it the guy who was there with his wife and son, so they could each get a bottle? The son (who barely looked 21) asked his Dad what the minimum amount he would accept for the 3 bottles and I heard $600. What a treat to be around such great people.

Also of note is that someone offered them the end of a bottle of a Hubbard’s Cave stout. They proceeded to drink it straight from the bottle - no more sharing that one.

As for myself, I got Friday and Sunday bottles, and have this crazy idea that I might just drink them. Unfortunately I didn’t get to have either on tap since the taproom line was so long. I’m also hoping that another buddy and I can trade one of our Swirl bottles for Double Rainbow so we can do a tasting of the whole lineup sometime.

I didn't see all of that go down. I was near the end of the line when he walked by. I hate when people like that go to a release. It's absolutely pointless to sell to someone who's guaranteed a bottle. There's a saying that I learned at a very young age that can be applied to many factors of life. That is, "know your audience."

Well run again on day 3. My only beef is that a number of people I know who got wristbands around 750th in line where I was around 730am ended up in the top 100 or so people in line. (They disappeared right after getting their bands and then merrily made their way past, bottles in hand, while we silly honest folk were still taking in the stink of the wet compost-mulch blend.)

Way to go, line cutters! Chicago tough, Chicago proud -- hope you got glasses and pours!

Great release this morning. Got there at 7:15. Met a couple of good guys from St. Louis and did a little sharing. Not too much sharing going on in line today being Sunday and post-DL. Had my bottle by 11. It took longer (12:25) to get into the taproom for a pour. Swirl was really good. The one weird part of today was a guy was apparently so drunk (from what I heard) he leaned onto a table and basically flipped it, all the drinks on it, and himself onto the ground. It made quite the sonic boom. Other than that, people seemed well behaved.

I was skeptical of this release working out in terms or logistics but I’m happy to admit I was wrong. You can never please everyone with the tickets vs line up debate, but if you’re going to have a line up event this is a really good experience. Good job by More

I wish there was a picture or video because there was a guy who I would’ve put money on to do something like that. Some of us weren’t sure he’d be able to pick up his bottle, and then I was surprised to see him in the taproom line.

To the guy that was talking to the More worker manning the door as the last of the line was rifling through telling said worker not to let anyone else in because we were obviously double dipping and had already passed through the line, you're not very bright and don't really understand how the whole "one registration/one wristband per person" works. Evidently I resemble someone who will game the system as my 8 year old daughter waits in the car across the street as I head to the back of the line as it's down to the last 5 people and my wristband, which has been intact for 3 hours, clearly shows no signs of manipulation.

And to the More worker that completely ignored every word he said, cheers!

Man, you're angry. Go have a beer or something.

Your post makes it pretty clear why you wouldn't enjoy meeting new people in line. It doesn't seem like you handle yourself very well socially. I met some cool people from Florida and Cincinnati. Went over to GI on Saturday afternoon with the people I met from Tampa and ended up hanging with them again on Sunday morning.

I didn't get drunk in public any of the 3 days, but it seems like those who did also had a lot more fun than you.

Mikerphone also did a line with tickets on Saturday. Seems like breweries are on one side of this debate...

Hey, don't bring Mikerphone into this! They just handed out tickets because they were excited anyone showed up.

Thought More did a very good job this weekend especially on being so fast once the bottle sales started. Pretty impressive how they moved through 1,000+ people so quickly.

Only recommendation would be how to get more pours for people post-bottle sale. Not sure I have the answer but they were selling food and I think a fair amount really just wanted to try the day's release. Not sure they even have the room to do this short of emptying out the tables.

Was lucky on Saturday to try Rainbow but assuming that was largely due to DLD.

Random shot in the dark here, but if anyone is looking to do a share with the BA Henna lineup, hit me up. A buddy and I are working on one, but we're just missing Double Rainbow. We figure it's a great way to try all 3 of the bottles without one person having to open them all.

Agree 100%, but the only way to stop this is if the wristbands were numbered and went up incrementally as people showed up. If you show up late, and have wristband #900, you can't go with your buddies that got there at 2am and have #1-50. They could have the main line (south side of trail) start further back, and then a separate line up near Villa for getting bottle and do groups of 50. 1-50 go first, then group 51-100 goes next etc.

I see where you're going with this & in theory it's a great idea. The unfortunate part to having numbered wristbands is that it would take twice as long to move through the lines. Each wristband would have to be closely monitored by staff to ensure that everyone is compliant with the rules which could lead to intoxicated people becoming combatant with the staff or others in line.

Personally, I didn't mind if anyone cut in front of me since I knew that I would get a bottle. As far as getting a glass to take home or a sample pour? Yuh win some, yuh lose some. Sometimes it's easier to be happy with what you have instead of thinking about what you could've had.

I dunno. The original poster made it clear his employment and family obligations prevented him from participating in waiting in line for a few hours for a bottle of beer. Kinda odd to criticize him for putting those priorities over drinking.

Selfishly an online release/lottery works better for people like us with those obligations. If online/lottery releases don't occur anymore, oh well, then Henna isn't for me and I'll only have like 100,000+ other beers to choose from in this world.

We all have different obligations/responsibilities. In a perfect world, there would be a system to make everyone happy but there isn't. Everyone has their own opinion as to how things should go & of course it's based on their own agenda. I think everyone needs to become resigned to the fact that we all won't be able to try every single beer out there (either limited releases or shelf beer). With every release that is missed, there's another one coming out.

It's just beer. Beer is supposed to be fun & when someone takes it personally as to how a brewery handles their product it takes away from the fun. If a job, family or real life gets in the way then I think it's time to evaluate what's truly important. Either taking care of the ones you love or a consumable item?

I ended up going to Friday and Sunday and all-in-all, I think they did a nice job as far as a line release goes. That being said- I understand the want by More to create a super hype release, but I really hope they go back to ticketed even if that means missing out on some of the future releases. I went at right around 7am both of those days and getting up that early for a beer on the weekends wasn't that fun.
