They’ve recently launched a MNvest campaign (Torg Brewery had also raised a significant portion of their financing in this way) and are planning to open in Roseville.

This could be an interesting mash up. A great brewery that couldn't keep any of it's brewers meets a brewer who couldn't keep a brewery up and running. I'm intrigued to see how this plays out.

    Pagan, meet Wiccan. Wiccan, Pagan.

I kind of love you take on this. I’ve heard solid things about the beer at Thirsty Pagan from someone that often enjoys the beers I do. While I hate to get negative the beers brewed at Sidhe (spelling) were not tasty IMO. I had them at one Beer Dabbler two years back and then again at another fest and so yeah it could have had something to do with all of the beers. Then again the beers I drank before and after that stop were good. I’d give it a try though, brewers get better as they learn the process and recipe creation.

I believe it's the only brewery + bed and breakfast in Minnesota -- so far.

If I’m not mistaken she was working at Fulton as brewer post Sidhe, and prior to her new gig at Thirsty Pagan. Perhaps she got a chance to hone her skills with the stint at Fulton.

In terms of beer, based on my lone and very early visit to each, I consider both middling by new craft brewery standards. Invictus so far is putting out old-fashioned, '90s-style microbrews, while Garphish's beer leans more contemporary though certainly not cutting-edge. They differ greatly in venue, as Invictus has a large and modern but bland space with a very suburban vibe and Garphish a smaller, old-fashioned space with a down-home, small-town vibe. Everything about Invictus screams, "We're in it for the money," while the passion for beer is more apparent at Garphish, but passion and six dollars will buy you a pint of beer.

Ended up going to Garphish. You nailed it with the description. Really unique old church for a building and a small town in rural Minnesota feel. Beer was solid. Like you said nothing cutting edge but definitely solid. If I lived out that way I'd certainly frequent the place often.

The Elk River place had decent enough beer too. Again, nothing extraordinary but based on some of my experiences at new places around the state they were just fine.

It's very classy how they write the word 'lager' in sharpie (end sarcasm). If you don't have the money to fully open a brewery don't open a brewery (not sarcasm).

I can't be the only one sick of these things. Can I?

At least if the beer is bad, we were already warned with the name Yuck in it. I'll hang up now and listen

Kinda harsh, don't you think? After all, they aren't in production yet - they're hoping for July. These are just "sampling some stuff out in cans periodically." Should they buy custom labels for every test / sample batch?

I was recently sampled crowlers from Lupulin and Blackstack at my restaurant job and I believe both had generic labels with the style handwritten in sharpie. Would you classify this breweries as not ready to open?

Try a Google search using this search string: Hunyuck Brew Co. Oakdale MN

Alternately, if you search the forum for Hunyuck, there's this post by @islay from January.
Not surprised to see them canning, but I doubt that's the final look of the label.

Yoerg posted on Facebook yesterday that they hope to sign a lease on a new location by the end of this week. They will announce the location once they do. Also, their bock and steam beer will start getting distributed next week.

Maybe they're taking over at Ward 6? It's the right size, and just down from Brunson's Pub.

According to a February Facebook post, they said that the bock was "It's finally in the bottle, and ready to roar!" So that makes it what, over three months old already?
