Didn't see a thread for these guys, and they've got some new cans coming out this weekend:

I think this beer is going to be dope. Ever since Pat took over the brewing operations the beers have gotten progressively better every batch.

Looks like Greenport is turning into another haze IPA/BA Stout/DDH Sour brewery

A little late to the party but if u want to make money in this game u gotta please the Instagramming juice-heads.

Don’t worry I doubt they will forget about black duck porter.

I think the new craft beer game is passing me by (which makes me question why I bother with this site) - and I'm fine with that. There are still some breweries out there that don't trip over themselves to follow the latest fad.

Wouldn’t worry too much, as their current tap list is still diversified to an extent: Pils, Larger, Marzen. Granted, an IPA presence seems to be a must nowadays, but not all here are NEIPA centric

In any case, curious to see how the “barrel program” plays out, and which elements are at play with development

I've been to the brewery many times over the years and enjoyed their mostly middle
of the road offerings - all quality, nothing really super exceptional. The porter is solid and they've made a nice barleywine in the past. I'll be out on the north fork this weekend and saw on social media they've been putting out some NE style DDH ipas in cans (Brewery only, natch) and even a fruited gose. Anyone tried these beers or have thoughts on this new direction? Are they really as good as the limited reviews I've seen here and untappd? Either way I plan on finding out for myself, just wondering if anyone has been lately and can share their experience.

I had a few of them a few months back; I thought they were solid; personally a step behind Sand City and the best of NYC breweries, but very drinkable and much better than some other Island offerings... I would put them in the 4.2-4.3 BA ratings, if that makes sense....I'll try to add the names of what I had tomorrow.
Its a cool spot, and the coffee place on the way to the carousel from there is great for coffee and really good hot chocolate too...

Anyone know which location is the better one to hit up? My wife and I will be on the North Fork for a couple of days and we're planning on hitting up the brewery, but probably only one location.

We're mostly interested in the NEIPA's and Sours...

The new beers they have been putting out under the new brewmaster Pat have all been fantastic. He is an extremely talented brewer and they have a whole line of sours sitting in barrels that will be released over time. I was never a fan of GP until they changed directions and now I can’t get enough of their beer.

It depends on what you are looking for. The original Taproom in the Village is small but can still accomodate a decent crowd. They don’t do food but you will be within walking distance of some great restaurants and the rest of the Village. The Peconic location is a much larger location with a yard and whole outdoor set up if the weather is nice. They do serve food there, I have not tried it yet, but it smelled good last time I was there. There isn’t much else around this location so you would have to drive if you were planning on jumping around.

Thanks for the reply. Part of the reason I was asking was that it wasn’t clear to me what was on tap in each location - where would we have the chance to try the best of their brews?

Any other help would be greatly appreciated!

Also do not go to Salamander fried chicken nearby... I have never been to a restaurant where we experienced such ugly rudeness, and it was from the owner of the place!

I really enjoyed the beers during my recent visit and thought that across the board they were stronger in execution, tastier and more interesting than ever before. The NEIPA "far out there" was great, second round knockout was good, the session IPA was really
Drinkable and not watery (pith and peel I think). I also dug the chili beer they had on. Berliner (citrus blue persuasion) was kind of meh for me but not bad.

Fun spot to hang out at in peconic with a group on a sunny afternoon. Food was tasty too.

The original location is a fairly small 2nd floor room in a busy little tourist town. It can be very loud when crowded and last time it went listened to one of the two servers have a nice long discussion with a customer and then walk away from the crowd on her end who were waiting to get a beer. Might have to drive around to get a parking spot.

The newer location is huge and has outdoor space as well, so less claustrophobic. Parking is easy.

Tried one of their new hazy ones and thought it was the best beer I've had from them over the years.

And it looks like they have that one at both locations.

This alone might be the reason to go the new location.

How could you tell what is on tap at each location? I found the website kind of confusing.

I went to the taproom with two floors a couple years ago, and I didn't even realize there were multiple locations. Place was pretty cool, but at the time all their beers were "meh" at best to me. With that being said, I've had some newer stuff at local bars and thought they were much better. The newer IPA's have been pretty solid, Hopnami, facing east, (I find the otherside IPA to basically be undrinkable), and they made a really good barrel aged stout. I've had 3 berliners ranging from not great, to pretty good.
