Is it possible to find OB Beerito as a stand-alone package? I saw that it is included in variety packs, but I tend to avoid variety packs as I don't think most are worth the money. Unless, of course, the rest of what OB packages are worth buying the whole case for...

I see it standalone here. Most of their beers are good, least I love them so the variety pack is good stuff. Check out your Total Wine, their stores in AZ have this in 6 packs.

OP give this a shot also.

    Ska Brewing Mexican Logger:

Ska brewed this beer for the first time long before Mexican lager was a hot craft beer style, back in 1999. Mexican Logger was Ska’s first session beer back then, long before session beers were a thing. The beer first hit cans more than ten years later in 2011, and then won back-to-back Great American Beer Festival® awards in the International Style Pilsner category in 2015 and 2016.

Ska Mexican Logger is crisp, clean, and refreshing — made for hot afternoons with a side of lime. The beer is a crushable 5 percent ABV, and brewed with a lager yeast strain from Mexico City. That same yeast strain now ferments Ska’s Rue B. Soho Grapefruit Lager as well.

Mexican Logger will be available in 12 oz. cans and on-draft in Colorado, Arizona, Southern California, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah the first week of April.

I am in the camp with @jesskidden in that so-called "Mexican lagers" are literally no different than AALs or Vienna lagers (dependent on the specific product, and the Vienna ones tend to have adjuncts, too, to my knowledge). That does not mean some of these new craft ones aren't tasty (@JackHorzempa I had Sierraveza and loved it; I wish I could get a six or twelve of this, preferably in cans), but ultimately it is inarguably all marketing unless a brewer decides to brew with lime to mimic the usual serving style.

If anyone can explain how the "Mexican lager" is different from AALs or Viennas and/or how the Mexican lager yeast is different than the yeasts used to ferment AALs and Viennas, I would actually be interested in hearing about it.

It's just too easy to drink the real thing. I do agree on Mexican Logger, it is excellent but the other so called craft Mexican style beers have been less than impressive to me. I will stick to Dos Equis, Pacifico, and Negro Modelo.

Ozark Beer Co. of Rogers Arkansas has just released a Vienna Lager (Doesn't bill itself as a "Mexican" style beer), that I have yet to try. Everything else they brew is superb.

I really do recommend Sierra Nevada Sierraveza if you don't mind picking up a variety 12-pack and/or if you can find a store that broke some of them up. It's great.

Uinta Lime Pilsner and Epic Los Locos Mexican-Style Lager are my go-to MS beers. Subtle lime tartness, and extremely sessionable. You'll go through at least 3-4 of them in one sitting.

I like Uinta's take on the lime theme which has a subtle but rich lime presence.

Ditto. In my opinion, it can easily hang with US craft pilsners.

Can you get 5 Rabbit beers there? They are out of the Chicago area. Most of their offerings include Latin flavors in them.

Apropos of nothing, I tried a Corona Familiar at a Mexican restaurant. They sell for $10.99 a sixer around here, i was wondering if it was worth the money. It was better than Corona in the clear bottle, but I'd never pay $10.99 for six of 'em. Kinda like Founders Solid Gold Lager. I followed up with a Modelo Negra, it was decidedly better.

When I think Mexican lager I think Vienna
    Negra Modelo or Beerito
    Else Bohemia

No offense, but I totally don't get how that's a substitute for Corona.

I went back to original post and he wants an imported Mexican beer, like Corona, that's independent, not a Mexican style beer. Looks like a lot of us read that wrong considering all the American brewed Mexican style lagers that have been suggested.Oops.

OP is asking for a Corona substitute, and you all giving Negra Modelo substitutes...
