I indeed have had it. Just not my jam. I will revisit.

And ya, the vintage Wednesday's ended after Memorial Day weekend. In any case, hoping to see the Helles again soon

    That’ll be my first beer!

Also luckily for me my wife is pregnant so I’ll have a DD the entire trip

They mentioned it would be at the anniversary party. Fantastic beer.

My strategy is start with lagers, switch to whatever "bottle beer" is on tap, and take home the "crispy littles" in growlers.

The trick is to order two beers at once, a lager you can drink right away and a pale or country beer to sit and warm up a bit before you get to it. Those beers, especially the pales, are so much better when you temper them.

I should just stop buying beer anywhere else.

What follows is the type of question I mock mercilessly in the Other Half thread, so everyone feel free to shit all over it:

What’s the chances of this being around the Wednesday after the release date?

IIRC it was 4 per last year and was around a week. If I could I would buy them all.

Qualify or Palatine? Should I wait to plan a trip until Palatine is in cans again?

As I drink a Qualify I thought I’d maybe contribute a few things.

I haven’t read much in this thread so this all might have been discussed...

Just did a huge swing through the Northeast visiting all the must stops along the way, Trill, TH, HF, Bissel, Notch, Alchemist, Gash, etc, etc. I’d been to most before except for Suarez but for me it was close to the top of the list and WOW did it not disappoint.

Spent the night in Germantown at the Central House, ate as Gaskins where I consumed as many of Dan’s beers as possible, and went to the Brewery the next day for an hour before driving to Waterbury. I should have probably spent more time here.

Can’t say enough about how awesome that zone is. It’s such a great change of pace from the lines, hype, in your face bullshit that is the beer scene now. Dan’s beers are amazing in their execution and intricacy yet highly quaffable. As someone who tries to brew beer on a regular basis I was really inspired by what he’s doing.

The food at Gaskins was insane, staying at The Central House was a treat. Never got asked for payment or a CC until it was time to leave. Guy that runs the place also completely restored it himself with family and friends. Martin is his name. Great guy and a great host, Pub will probably be open downstairs by fall. I could go back there and just sit on that porch, play cards, drink Suarez, and watch time go by for hours.. Everything seemed to slow down when I landed in Germantown. It was a really cool to see people investing in all these little towns nearby.

Guys if you want to combine a little beercation into a weekend away with the lady this is the spot. Beer is dope, food is superb, Central House is the shit, there are wineries if she’s not into beer, and it’s just a great spot to roll the windows down and drive the backroads real slow when the weather’s nice.

    Can’t wait to go back.

And there's the city of Hudson, nearby, with its celebrated row of antique shops... possibly another incentive to convince "the lady" to go on a Hudson Valley beercation. I would also recommend a visit to "Olana", the estate of famous 19th century artist Frederick Church.. breathtaking views, amazing architecture and paintings. https://www.olana.org/

I love Columbia County NY, I lived there from 2008 through 2014. Further north, you can visit Chatham Brewery.. great beer, and Chatham is another town with a great vibe.

Is there some other Chatham brewery to which this comment refers. DEFINITELY can't be referring to the one I have been giving chance after chance to be more than crap beer for many years.

In reference to Chatham, I've enjoyed most all beers I've had from them. They have fair pricing and they always seam to have fresh product on shelves.
