    That’s good for Flat Earth.

Made it Dual Citizen in St. Paul. Great little space, but the beer was just ok. The pale ale was super malty and bitter. The two IPA were more malt forward and seemed to use too much crystal malt... the pilsner was "interesting". Just hope they figure it out a bit...

Here's an update on Little Thistle in Rochester. Little Thistle is aiming for an August opening (which means my projection is October).

The Growler has an article on 22 Northmen.

That's the Travis Temke plan / F-Town evolution. I'm surprised it's still going forward given F-Town's financial troubles (see previous posts in this thread). The Pioneer Press has a recent article on the subject.

Your right! Place is lovely , location perfect and right on the Green Line . They need to dial in their beers a bit . Their best beer is a stout but at 8% limits it to one a visit. How about a sessionable Stout? They have a coffee ale but it’s 6.5% when it would drink much better at 5-5.5%. IPA leaned heavily on malt .

They are open less than 6 months ,I’d say give them time .

I was more wondering if new plans were made.

Agreed - mostly malt bombs with very little differentiation. Lots of tweaking needed.

We had a similar experience - the beers were fine, nothing flawed, nothing I need to have again.

I'd say if they've been open this long, I don't expect much more improvement. And personally, with Surly a short distance away, I can't see myself visiting again.

Any clue what style they are geared for? All I can see is - "our taproom showcases award winning beers." I mean, is that like saying you sell the worlds best cup of coffee, or is this a brewer who has actually won medals/awards of some sort?

    WHHHHAAAAAATTTTT!!! :astonished:

I thought the proper order for starting up a brewery was well understood:

    1. Design a logo
    2. Facebook
    3. Swag for sale
    4. Start a go-fund-me
    5. Begin investigating the properties available
    6. Go to a festival or 2 to sample your homebrew in the swag glasses
    7. Order some of your equipment
    8. Realize paperwork and approvals are required
    9. Search for a new location because the landlord got tired of waiting and/or you couldn't make a lease payment.
    ...

I'm not familiar with Lori Ertl, who is opening Under Pressure, but here's Chip's article from last year for The Growler: https://growlermag.com/minnesota-homebrewer-spotlight-part-3-lori-ertl/

You forgot an increasingly popular one:

    10. Shutter plan when you realize you've bitten off much more than you can chew.

Lori is a member of our homebrew club (Primary Fermenters) and has won many local/regional awards as well as a medal in last year's National Homebrew Competition. She is opening this brewery with her family and planning to stay on as head brewer. I know in the past she has specialized in English styles as a homebrewer but I suspect her plan as a pro brewery is to offer a more broad selection. I know it doesn't matter but she is a truly wonderful person who I wish has great success. She's been known to obsess over certain recipes until she gets them just right and brew them many times. It will be interesting to see what she is able to do with a larger system under the different constraints of running a business.

The page is back with a name which reflects their flagship brand, 651 Tyga Bite Tsov Tom.

Branding also reflects their co-packaging arrangement with Vine Park Brewing:

While they have been brewing both developmental batches and their inaugural batch at Vine Park, I believe that they are also in the process of looking for a permanent location for their brewery and taproom, which may also include an outdoor beer garden.

651 Tyga Bite Tsov Tom is presently available at select locations (I believe it is draught, only).
