Ahh ... I don't trade so this aspect is nowhere near my radar.

If CW is everything you/we want it to be and it’s local, why trade?

Because I love to try other breweries too. We so much availability, why limit yourself to a single brewery? Don't you want to explore other places that might offer a different take on the style or might offer something good but you can't really buy in the state? It's all about exploration and appreciating the craft beer scene in the country. I understand it's not for everyone.

I can respect that. And you’re right, not for everyone, which is where I have hard time reconciling. For me, I don’t want to discover that my perfect Pils or Pale Ale is from across the country and not easily accessible. I also tend to be brand loyal. I estimate 75% of my regular monthly beer expenses are CW cans/bottles. If I lived/worked within 10 miles (as opposed to 25), would probably exceed 90%.

Believe it or not, if you are a big/experienced trader, you can "sell" the hype to trade partners. As a matter of fact, the ratings and reviews will "sell/hype" the brew by itself without lines, spoiling the chill atmosphere CW has created and the useless yappering of spoiled, entitled neckbeards beergeeks! If your trade partners don't bite, they are missing out. More local, easier to obtain brew for you, me and those locals "in the know".

Right, that's basically what I said haha. Not only do they not hype, but they just don't allow it to happen by making buying their beers such an easy process. Traders be damned, as far as I'm concerned.

Why not.. throw one in as an extra and see if they like it?

I have done that in the past. But let's be real. Beer that trades are the ones that are new or have a consistently solid following (Tree House, Trill, etc). While Counter Weight's beers can stand on their own, it just doesn't have the name recognition just yet.

I don't trade, so I'm not sure if this would work, but maybe you could sell CW as being from the brewer who made NEBCO what they are today. Fuzzy Baby Ducks, etc. That's recognizable.

On the other hand, it feels good to find that perfect one despite not being readily available.
I don't want to trade beer for the sake of who brewed it. I'm not at all worried about not being able to use CW as trade bait but I am merely making a point that CW is such an "under the radar" brewery and it deserves more recognition.

Anyone think the distributed cans of Workhorse are lacking character? I always thought of it as a soft and subtle Pilsner, slightly lemony and spicy, but these cans seem to be very muted in all regards. Hopefully just an off day for me. Went through two after a BBC Busker; will try again fresh tomorrow.

Thought it was just fine! Been on a huge pilsner kick myself lately. 12 pack of Jack's Abby post shift is an amazing thing to have. So happy Workhorse is in distro in Hartford County now.

Same here, but I've only had it in the can. (that sounded weird) I'm digging it. I have not seen those 12's of Post Shift though, bring it on. Speaking of Pilsners, I got the Bell's Lager of the Lakes last night, wasn't a fan, had a cloying sweetness finish that took the poundability right out of it, make it hard to drink for me, actually. I'll stick local, got to get to Nebco for some Elm City...

As anyone who reads this thread will see, I have loved almost everything they've done. I did not think the Peach Weises and Virtues was very good though. I did not get a whole lot of peach, or tartness from the beer and thought the it lacked flavor overall.

    What’s hop profile of Velocirapture?

Couldn't find any specific info, but this is from their first Instagram post about the beer.

"Velocirapture Ipa! Velicorapture IPA is brewed with a blend of hops that crest a unique melon and white grab like flavors and aromas, coming in at 6.8%.."

Did they mean "white wine" instead of "white grab"? lol. Maybe Nelson or Hallertau Blanc and Huell Melon?

I’ve been hot and cold with Headway but the 6/4 cans are fantastic. I assume other recent batches have been similar? Been a few months since my last purchase. $9.99 four pack makes me happy.

I think the Inundation can I just drank was one of the best beers I've had all year.
